It appears BO's boys Brennan and Holder are really in the dumpster. Brennan for saying the GOP are helping AQ and that a 20% recidivism rate among released terrorists is OK; Holder, most recently, for his lousy handling of terror trials in US courts. Never mind Biden. No hope there either. With 22 staffers at $6.4 mil a year just in wages, can't Michelle help?

CNN poll: 52% say Obama doesn't deserve reelection in 2012

52 percent of Americans said President Barack Obama doesn't deserve reelection in 2012, according to a new poll.

Gee whiz...wonder if it's got to do with his miserable performance? America does't want a socialist / progressive in the WH for sure...

If this is true, I must give kudos to Obama: According to a CNN news clip, he will receive the Dalai Lama in the WH. *applause*

The CNN clip is "China on the Dalai Lama"

Yes, apparently this is being mega hyped by Drudge. Lets spoil the party, and compare to dubya -

Matt Drudge is currently blaring this headline about a new CNN poll (PDF):

CNN SHOCK POLL: MAJORITY SAY OBAMA DOESN'T DESERVE 2ND TERM

Actually, the poll isn't especially shocking. As The Hill points out, "52 percent of Americans said President Barack Obama doesn't deserve reelection in 2012" -- a number that is almost identical to the proportion who disapprove of the job he's doing (50%).

For context, a Fox News poll in August 2001 asked the following question about George W. Bush:

Considering how President (George W.) Bush has performed so far, do you think he deserves to be reelected or would the country probably be better off with someone else as president?

The results? 36% said Bush deserved to be reelected, 42% said the country would be better off with someone else, and 22% said it depends or weren't sure. These numbers are actually worse than Obama's relative to the 55% approval/32% disapproval numbers the Fox poll showed for Bush.

The only poll that counts is the one that happens on election day, And thats years down he track. A lot can happen in the meantime.

Maybe a war with Iran would get the American people back on side?

I think after the $787 billion fishing expedition to try & socialize healthcare that Obama is cooked.
He squandered his first year in office. No one is going to excuse that type of incompetence.
The Clinton's tried to pull the same thing & got their heads handed to them. Some people just can't learn.

Indeed . . . eight years was all the guy got and then they threw him out of office . . . and eight years of freedom and prosperity followed under GWB.

Hail the Leader, GWB, the best and brightest the GOP could come up with until Palin.

    What an excellent record

Not that it matters much. But this latest poll shows Obama is still favored among any of the Rethugs in the limelight today.

    Thursday, February 18, 2010

    Obama leads GOP hopefuls

As bad as things are for Democrats right now voters still prefer Barack Obama to any of the leading Republicans in the country.

After trailing in one of the hypothetical match ups on our monthly 2012 poll for the first timein January, Obama is back ahead of all the potential 2012 hopefuls. He's up 45-43 on Mitt Romney, 46-43 on Mike Huckabee, 50-43 on Sarah Palin, and 46-28 on John Thune.

    (Snip)

As for Obama, his approval rating is back in positive territory for the first time in our polling since early December at 48/47. That's largely thanks to 48% approval from independents, up from 43% in mid-January.

this is going to be very costly for Obama, Chinese are not going to take that lightly

I noticed a few US treasury have been sold by the Chinese recently, making Japan again the top holders of US Government bonds

Chinese doing their usual posturing. Every President I remember has met with the Dali Lama. Had no effect on relations.

Bush presenting him with a Congressional Gold Medal.

Thanks, Babes, but I was looking for the joint speech in the Rose Garden after the meet like. Funny you had to get that from the Guardian...and no tea and cookie for the Prez? Just having a quick flyby was he? Looks like he's telling the Dalai to knock it off with China or something.

I wonder how they are going to spin this into Obama being a weak leader, soft on terrorism and despotic regimes, etc.

Shouldn't be a problem I guess, seeing as he's already trebled the forces in Ghan, launched a major offensive against the Taliban, and killed or captured 12 of the 20 most wanted Al Qaeda leaders since he's be been sworn in.

    1. no, in your first post you said 'photo op'. now you're moving the goal posts to speech in the rose garden.

    Some will.

US and Chinese Presidents have always been faced with the Dali Lama dilemma. US President must show they are sympathetic to "human rights" cause which he represents and Chinese President must show their resolve re the "separatist" cause. Both Presidents playing to their domestic audiences.
