Yep, and I read it. Kissinger said lower level and then was pulled back and said "initially, yes" -- who knows what he was answering to?

Give ya Biden's long years, but Obama?

"Sworn into office January 4, 2005, Senator Obama serves on the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, which oversees our nation’s health care, schools, employment, and retirement programs. He is a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, which plays a vital role in shaping American policy around the world, including our policy in Iraq."
Barack Obama - U.S. Senator for Illinois
OK, what did he do on that foreign relations committee (sorry, subcommittee):

In one of the more pointed barbs in a Feb. 26, 2008, debate, Sen. Hillary Clinton charged that Sen. Barack Obama has been so busy running for president that he hasn’t done much of anything as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on European Affairs.
Congressional records show, and spokesmen for several subcommittee members confirm, the subcommittee has not held any policy hearings since Obama was appointed chair in early 2007. The subcommittee’s jurisdiction includes “all matters, policies and problems concerning the continent of Europe, including the European member states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.”

Obama is so busy running for new office he doesn't seem to have much time for any real work.

Or how about the part where the slimeball said: "I have this bracelet given to me by a mother"....sniff....sniff....tears running down....

And his constant blabbering about the Veterans: "I will take care of you guys, I know and will not forget! sniff.....sniff.....more tears......

Are we at the Oscars here or a Presidential debate!
Why did he not say "I want to thank my Mom, my wife and can I say hello to my dog Rufus who is also watching me".

i just realized that the next debate is a 'town hall' format, so it will be difficult for the candidates to go after one another.

it's going to interesting to watch the 3rd debate in mid-october, because mccain's going to need a knock out punch if the numbers stay the same as they are now.

Who's passing the buck Senator "I'm-better-at-campaigning-it's-more fun-than-real-work" Obama?

Obama will show up if anyone calls him if not he'll stay where it is more fun than going to work and getting put on record as to where he actually stood on an issue instead of just blabbing or instead of voting "present" like he did 129 times as an Illinois senator.

In 1999, Obama voted "present" on SB 759, a bill that required mandatory adult prosecution for firing a gun on or near school grounds. The bill passed the state Senate 52-1. Also in 1999, Obama voted "present" on HB 854 that protected the privacy of sex-abuse victims by allowing petitions to have the trial records sealed. He was the only member to not support the bill.

Obama is the type of guy who says, "You foxes go ahead and guard the chicken coop. Call me if you need me." Obama learned that from Johnson and Raines, his two economic advisers and former heads of Fanny Mae who received millions of dollars and were forced to resign due to unethical accounting practices.

Another thing what does Obama mean by "us"? Who else is he talking about? His campaign advisers? His wife? Who is "us". Why the plural? Who is he dragging into his position with him or is it "our" position? Why does he feel the need not to stand alone on this position?
Where's Obama? He's in Colorado, “Democrats, Republicans, step up to the plate and get this done." Obama says, "Hey, you missed a spot." while he is out gallivanting.

BBC radio, post debate said McCain won. Later in a BBC report they were asking if the mortgage security debalcle was the end of American capitalism? What do they mean? Government regulations of banks required the banks to make risky loans so more people could participate in the American dream of home ownership. Government forcing banks to make loans is hardly capitalistic. Why do BBC commentators purposely distort the picture? I can't believe the BBC's target audience is the same as that of the Mirror and the Sun.

I think what they were referring to is that US Capitalism has, at least nominally, always been about Private ownership, and a lack of government intervention in markets. Even services that have traditionally been covered by State owned companies in Europe- power, water, public transport and so on- are privately owned in the US, and profit driven.

Now you are looking at a total reversal, where the public sector is both bailing out privately owned companies and, it is proposed, becoming shareholders in them. Or, in the case of FNMA and GNMA, even nationalising them. So it is a major departure from the traditional US Capitalist model.

Ah, I'm glad that you and your fellow right-of-centre darlings have si much faith in Palin . . . you identify with her?

Anyway, we'll see when the debate is on, I will definitely record it and save it for posterity.
