Agree guys. In the end the masses will vote for name recognition, celebrity and one who best articulates promises they want to hear but never will.

The truely qualified are way to smart to bother participating in what has become a media driven political beauty contest.

I hope, for the Dems sake that Bernie doesn't run.

His supporter base doesn't easily transfer to other Dem pres candidates.

i hope, for TD's sake, that you get better informed....sanders announced he was running nearly a month ago.

like serveral candidates on both sides, he's too old, too white, too male.

it should be clear that they're in no position to do the job properly.

and by properly i mean not spending 6 hours/day watching fox news during 'executive time'.

What is an illness is your typical spambot posts. You are most likely one of the most dumb posters in the history of teakdoor. You are a spambot and a simpleton who swallows fox news talking points like a geriatric swallows laxatives.

Nearly every other profession on earth wouldn't see a septuagenarian as being even a viable candidate, never mind being the best candidate?
They have a minimum age to run, why not a maximum?

one reason is that oldsters vote in higher percentages than other age groups, so at this point any politician who votes for a "maximum age" is looking at a very tough re-election.

Beto O'Rourke, breakout star of the Democratic Party, says he is running for US president

    2020 US Presidential Race-10901938-3x2-940x627-jpg
Polls have consistently ranked Beto O'Rourke in the top tier of declared or possible Democratic candidates

Beto O'Rourke, the Texan who gained a national following with his long-shot election battle against US senator Ted Cruz last year, will seek the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.

    Key points:
    • Beto O'Rourke, from conservative Texas, boasts both local and national support
    • He gained fame during a narrow Senate-race loss to Ted Cruz in the 2018 midterms
    • He is one of the early frontrunners to win the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination

Mr O'Rourke, a 46-year-old former three-term US representative from West Texas, made his announcement on Thursday morning (local time).
"This is a defining moment of truth for this country and for every single one of us," he said in a video alongside his wife, Amy Hoover Sanders.

What got baldy orange cunto elected was voter apathy.

I think it's safe to say that isn't the case any more. More than a few trumpanzees want him out now they've seen that his tax cuts were fake.

Not really. Record voter turnout although black turnout was lower than previous elections. An overconfident Clinton running against a guy who no matter what you think of him ran an effective campaign. All added up to a perfect political storm.

    not even close.

apathy on the dem side was a huge factor.....many dems and independents were lukewarm (or worse) to clinton, and there was no reason to think that baldy orange cunto could win the electoral college....but he did because of ~80,000 total votes in MI, WI and PA.

that's not going to happen in 2020.

whoever the dem nominee is in 2020, he/she will be spending a lot of time in those three states.....you'll notice that the dem convention was just announced to be held in milwaukee.

^The tropes begin. What do modern Trumpists really stand for other than character assassination, bigotry, smears, threats, violence and now mass murder?

Trying the scandal approach is a stupid tactic. Trump has that contest won hands down.
