Hotel Chain Withdraws Magazine Advert After It Is Called 'Sexist'

What do you make of this pic? Looks like a normal ad for the Sofitel hotel in Brisbane, Australia, a lovely couple sitting around in a pair of matching hotel bathrobes eating a continental breakfast in bed.

Or so it would appear. Turns out the hotel has been forced to drop this advert because some people think it is sexist.

Can you see what's triggered the snowflakes?

He's reading a financial paper and she's reading a woman's magazine? (potrayed as intelligent man v bimbo)

The newspaper has pictures of three men but no pictures of women? (discrimination against women)

The man is wearing a watch when he should be making more time for his wife? (uncaring man, victim woman)

The man is not wearing a wedding ring so he's in bed with a woman other than his wife? (cheating male bar steward)

Actually I might have taken a stab at the paper/magazine choices, eventually; otoh the height of sexism surely is having the eye, mindset and obsession to find fault in an innocuous hotel ad.

Waitrose Forced To Rename Their 'Sexist' Sandwich After Complaints

High end supermarket chain Waitrose has been forced to change the name of one of its sandwiches after receiving a torrent of criticism online.

The 'Gentleman's Smoked Chicken Caesar Roll' was launched as part of the store's Heston Blumenthal range, but it doesn't appear to have had the desired effect. At. All.

Amy Lamé, who works for London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, shared a picture of the controversial snack on Twitter yesterday, commenting: "I never knew sandwiches were gender specific. I'm female but thankfully Waitrose let me purchase this anyway."
