Not true, what the US buys from China are mostly things they dont make themselves and which the American consumer wants, if they dont buy from China then either they get them from somewhere else at a probably higher price or the consumer goes without which would not make voters happy.

The reason they're all made in China is because when there were (and are) choices available, the "patriots" went for the cheap Chinese shit, so corporations moved (and continue to move) their manufacturing there to compete.

    Do try and keep up.

Whilst the G6+1 trip goes awry, impulsive behaviour and quickly shifting emotions, the future world leaders continue with business and good relations,

In China the SCO is Conducting a Productive and Civilised Summit While the G7 is One Big Argument Inside a Political Circus

    https://www.eurasiafuture.com/2018/0...itical-circus/

    One quote from Macron:

“The six countries of the G7 without the United States, are a bigger market taken together than the American market. Maybe the American president doesn’t care about being isolated today, but we don’t mind being six, if needs be."

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-g...-idUSKCN1J329V

Coupled with the SCO, the EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union), the BRICS and The Belt Road. The alternative seems a no-brainer.

Crude oil piped from Myanmar to China hits 8.9m tonnes

    Xinhua | Updated: 2018-06-08 18:18

KUNMING - The China-Myanmar crude oil pipeline has carried a total of 8.9 million tonnes of crude oil into China after one year of operation, according to its operator in Southwest China's Yunnan province.

Meanwhile, China has imported more than 18 billion cubic meters of natural gas through a second pipeline linking the two countries since 2013, the Dehong branch of PetroChina Southwest Pipeline Company said Friday.

According to customs of the provincial capital Kunming, the value of oil and gas imported from the pipelines accounted for 23.4 percent of Yunnan's total imports in 2017.
Crude oil started entering China via the 1,420-km China-Myanmar crude oil pipeline last June and the China-Myanmar natural gas pipeline was put into operation in July 2013.

The China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline project is a state-operated collaboration between China, Myanmar, and international commercial partners which was built to help ensure the energy security of the world's second-largest economy.

Presumably this is o/il from the middle east delivered to a Myanmar port and pumped across Myanmar to the Chinese border? Or does Myanmar have oil/gas producing developments onshore or offshore?

Myanmar produces 21000bpd. That would put a nice patina on that pipeline.

European and Ameristani Car Manufacturers Increase their Chinese Investments.-137153789_15253415089561n-jpg "VIENTIANE - China Railway No 2 Engineering Group (CREC-2) has completed the main construction work of the longest bridge along the China-Laos railway which is also the longest-ever bridge in Laos.

Zeng Fanbing, the superintendent from the CREC-2 in charge of the construction of the sixth section of the China-Laos railway project, told Xinhua on Friday that his team finished the concrete casting of the last bridge pier of the Nam Khone super major bridge on Thursday, thus completing the main construction work of the longest bridge along the railway project.

The Nam Khone super major bridge, located in the northern suburb of Lao capital Vientiane, has a total length of 7.5 km. A total of 230 bridge piers have now been erected. The highest pier reaches 10.5 meters.
The China-Laos railway is one of interconnectivity projects under the framework of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative. Construction of the railway began in December 2016 and the railway is expected to open to traffic in December 2021.

The China-Laos railway has a length of over 414 kilometers, linking Mohan-Boten border gate in northern Laos and capital Vientiane. Operating speed on the route is designed at 160 km per hour."

"A special China Railway Express train which departed from Belgium, arrived at the city of Xi'an in Shaanxi province with 160 imported European-made Volvo XC90 and V40 cars on Wednesday.

It marked the debut of a regular new freight service that will help enable Volvo to cut the waiting time of customers in China massively.

The train -- which set off from Ghent in Belgium and traveled for 16 days and more than 10,000 kilometers -- arrived at Xi'an Vehicle Port.

"Volvo Cars will actively engage in the strategic Belt and Road Initiative," said Yuan Xiaolin, president & CEO of Volvo Car Asia Pacific.
The automaker said that thanks to the China Railway Express special train, the waiting time for Shaanxi customers, from ordering to picking up their cars, will be cut by more than two thirds.

Volvo said that as a result, it would be more capable of meeting local market demand and serving local customers.
The automaker is also exporting China-made car products to Europe using another China Railway Express service, and transporting vehicle parts and other finished auto products.

The Volvo S90 premium sedan, expected to set a benchmark for China's automobile manufacturing, is among those products being exported to Europe through China Railway Express.

Volvo started exporting the S90 units produced at its Daqing factory in Liaoning province using China Railway Express in May last year, and more than 13,500 units of the model have since been transported to the Continent by the special train"

Indiana to get EV facility as China steps in

European and Ameristani Car Manufacturers Increase their Chinese Investments.-5b23da48a310010f43da2134-jpeg

"Investment from China is helping Indiana to retain and expand the state's manufacturing industry.

When AM General decided to close its plant in Mishawaka, Indiana, in 2017, the community faced the prospect of losing more than 300 jobs and having an empty building. In stepped SF Motors, a Silicon Valley-based subsidiary of China's Chongqing Sokon Industry Group to buy the facility to manufacture electric vehicles.

With Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb in attendance on May 30, SF announced it will invest $160 million to renovate and retool the factory ,which will produce two electric vehicle models and serve as the company's primary US-based manufacturing plant. The 35-acre campus will house the company's body and paint shop, general assembly and office administration.

In addition to Indiana, Chinese investments are still being made in other US states despite a drop in overall Chinese investment in the country – from $46.5 billion in 2016 to $29.7 billion in 2017– and the current trade spat between the two countries.

Analysts say the reason for the decline reflects a tightening of restrictions by the central government on outbound investment to prevent big conglomerates overextending themselves.

"For us to have SF come in here and make this investment, it's a huge opportunity for our region," Bill Schalliol, executive director of economic development for St. Joseph County, Indiana, said in an interview. "A large number of those who worked at AM General will work at SF."

SF has already started hiring and plans to have around 200 people working at the facility by the end of the year.

The factory was built in 2001 for production of the now defunct Hummer vehicles. After Hummer production ended, the plant produced Mercedes R class vehicles.

"We are proud to partner with Indiana to create up to 467 new jobs, supporting the greater Mishawaka and South Bend economy," John Zhang, the founder and CEO of SF Motors said in a statement. "With this investment and renovation, we are well poised to bring our cutting-edge vehicles to the highway by 2019."

Schalliol said Chinese ownership of the plant is not an issue in the community, located near the Hoosier State's border with Michigan.

"I think by and large the community embraces it," Schalliol said. "We understand that foreign investment is a good opportunity to get jobs."

"With a world of options, we're thrilled SF Motors chose to expand in Indiana," Holcomb said in a statement.

In Greenfield, Indiana, work continues on the construction of a new 276,000-square-foot manufacturing facility for BeijingWest Industries Co (BWI).

In 2017, BWI selected Greenfield for the plant that is expected to employ 441 and produce automotive suspension components like shock absorbers and struts, according to Gregory Dronen, global facilities director for BWI.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held nearly a year ago. Company officials didn't respond to a request for comment although a picture on the BWI web site appears under the title "BWI Group Indiana Plant Construction Progressing."

The company has indicated that the plant is scheduled to begin production in 2019. BeijingWest Industries is a joint venture of Shougang Corp and Beijing Fangshan State-Owned Asset Management.

China-funded railway transforms life of Kenyans one year on

European and Ameristani Car Manufacturers Increase their Chinese Investments.-2fac2b23-92ce-4574-a8fd-9f92c7428910-jpeg

"Chris Morara, who relocated from a village in western Kenya nine years ago to settle in Athi River industrial hub outside the country's capital Nairobi, has an unwavering quest to succeed in life.

The 40-year-old father of three, now a motorcycle driver with thriving business, has seen the industrial town he now calls home grow since the launch of the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) train service on May 31, 2017.

In an interview with the Xinhua News Agency ahead of the SGR train's 1st anniversary on June 4, Morara said it has boosted his fortunes, as the bulk of his passengers and cargo are from the Athi River terminus.

"My business has improved and we usually camp at the Athi River's SGR terminus at 1 pm to wait for customers," Morara said. "The SGR train has created employment opportunities, promoted business and made transport more efficient."

He charges $1.5 for ferrying a passenger to the terminus, while cargo generates a higher revenue for the savvy entrepreneur, who is determined to remain in the motorcycle transportation business for the long haul.

The famed modern passenger train, known as the Madaraka Express, makes two trips daily between Nairobi and the coastal city of Mombasa. Madaraka, a Swahili word, means responsibility, power and governance.

The train has attained an occupancy rate of over 95 percent while reducing the time spent connecting Kenya's two biggest cities by half, from 10 hours to five. The distance travelled is 480 kilometers.

An estimated 1.3 million Kenyans have commuted between Nairobi and Mombasa by the SGR train since its launch one year ago, according to statistics released by Kenya Railways Corporation.

Meanwhile, about forty-five has thousand 20-feet equivalent units of cargo has been transported by the SGR cargo service since December 1, 2017, sparing entrepreneurs a colossal amount of money compared to road transportation.

    Embodiment of partnership

The China-funded modern railway is estimated to have boosted the African country's GDP by 1.5 percent and provided 46,000 jobs to locals. About 300 domestic enterprises were sub-contracted during its construction, according to official figures.

Chen Yun, vice president of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), the SGR contractor, said at the anniversary event that the project has been an integral part of Kenya's socio-economic transformation to benefit ordinary citizens.

The Madaraka Express also saw the advent of the nation's first batch of modern railway talent, including locomotive drivers. "Up to now, the SGR operation business has trained 1,600 Kenyan railway professionals," Chen said.

The launch of the modern railway revitalized China-Kenya relations, serving as an embodiment of Beijing's true partnership with East Africa's largest economy.

A survey conducted by a leading polling firm Ipsos in April revealed that China has become the most favored development partner of Kenyans thanks to Beijing's robust involvement in their country's economic development.

Raphael Tuju, secretary general of the ruling Jubilee Party, said in a recent interview with Xinhua that Kenya and other African countries regard China as a strategic partner in their quest to boost trade and infrastructure development.

"If you ask any Kenyan about China, the first thing that crosses their mind is the standard gauge railway linking Mombasa and Nairobi, and Guangzhou, where Kenyans go to buy clothes and other items," said Tuju.

    Deepening integration

Kenya's budding entrepreneurs agree that the SGR has not only promoted China's image in the country but has also been instrumental in transforming regional commerce.

Shadrack Kimeu, a 30-year-old owner of a hardware shop, said that his revenue streams have expanded thanks to faster, cheaper, and more efficient means of transporting construction materials guaranteed by the SGR.

In a speech read on his behalf by Managing Director of Kenya Railways Corporation Atanas Maina on June 4, Macharia said that the Madaraka Express has brought huge benefits to critical sectors of the economy such as manufacturing and tourism besides enhancing technology transfer."

China-funded railway transforms life of Kenyans one year on - Global Times
Kenyan's lilly pads are connected by a new link. What does it show? Firstly the connected lilly-pad scenario actually can enable people to improve their lives. Better communications leads to increased prosperity due to enabling products and people to be delivered where and when needed. This improves people's lives. By improving people's lives the inclination to move elsewhere is reduced. Prosperity can be achieved without trekking thousands of mikes, risking sea crossings, being incarcerated in holding camps and possibly never reaching any better destination.

Win/Win for the developing communities/the developed country/the investing company/the investing companies home communities.

What's not to applaud in such projects?

The previous use of the "lilly-pad" scenario, as instigated by western military forces in Asian countries, were never able to connect them and hence they were isolated communities which couldn't connect with the next community and delivered nothing of substance to the communities. The community stagnated, the desire for a better life either was accomplished by leaving to search for nirvana or succumb to the whispers of the local change merchants and take up an armed struggle.

"Li envisions nations cooperating on constructing linking infrastructure China and Nepal will build a cross-border railway connecting the Tibet autonomous region with Kathmandu, as agreed on in more than 10 cooperative documents signed on Thursday.
The signing was witnessed by Premier Li Keqiang and his visiting Nepali counterpart Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Oli is on a six-day visit to China.
The new line will connect the Gyirong trading port in the city of Xigaze, Tibet, with the Nepali capital Kathmandu, Vice-Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou said at a briefing after the two leaders' meeting. A railway was put in operation in 2014 linking Xigaze with the autonomous region's capital Lhasa, which is also at one end of the lengthy Qinghai-Tibet Railway."

    CRCC tests Saudi rail project

"China Railway Construction Corp (CRCC) started on Wednesday the testing of the Mecca Light Rail in Saudi Arabia, in preparation for Hajj pilgrimage in August when millions of pilgrims will head to the holiest city in Islam. CRCC, which was in charge of the construction of Mecca Light Rail, gained the operating rights in a contract worth 350 million Saudi Arabian rials ($93 million) in April.

The company earlier operated the light rail, the first one in Saudi Arabia, from 2010-2014 after the construction was completed, carrying out about 15 million trips with zero fatalities.

The light rail, which was the first railway built by a Chinese company in the Middle East, will ease congestion on the road in the Hajj pilgrimage season and provide easy transportation for pilgrims as it links three main Hajj destinations."

Not like some previous empresses and would be non-blue blooded fake "royalty". Currently dropping a bomb every 12 minutes somewhere in the world and leaving countries polluted with DP, destroyed cities, illegal terrorists slitting throats. whilst being fed, armed, trained, directed from 10,000m.

Ultimately losing everything, prestige, political and financial leadership. Still some believe ameristan will be saved, by a goldilocks halfway through his elected term with zero to show for his tantrums.

    Doubtful or convinced?

Don't forget every Chinese run train, on every line, in every country, has a least one carriage with a nuclear tipped ICBM in it, ready to stop, open the roof, raise the missile, fuel and launch at it's enemy. Like wise every Chinese ship carrying containers, on the worlds oceans, has 10% of the top layer of containers, similarly carrying the nuclear tipped ICBMs. Allegedly.

So many targets to find and destroy with the worlds largest, bestest military force.

China’s 1,100-KV transmission line to be completed by end of 2018

European and Ameristani Car Manufacturers Increase their Chinese Investments.-foreign201806221702000568521118581-jpg

"t’s expected that China’s 1,100-KV ultra high voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission line will be finished before the end of this year. The world’s first UHVDC transmission line starts in Junggar Basin, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and ends in the town of Guquan, Wuhu City in east China’s Anhui province, totaling 3,324 kilometers with a transmission capacity of 12 million kilowatts.

It is the world’s longest transmission line with the largest capacity and highest voltage. It is also the most advanced of its kind.

The transmission towers each exceed 100 meters in height, making them as tall as a 33-storey building. The cables used in the project are as thick as an adult’s wrists. The porcelain insulators and even the screws and nuts for stabilizing the cables weigh over 10 kilograms each.

Over the past two years, the project team in Xinjiang has built 1,109 transmission towers along the 600-kilometer corridor across the deserts, wind zones and Tianshan Mountains of the northwest autonomous region.

Compared with the 750-KV transmission lines that are already well-developed, increasing the voltage to 1,100-KV has posed unprecedented challenges to the engineers.

The building of converter stations, for instance, are key to the project, requiring the most advanced technologies in the industry today. For this feat, the company has had to further develop capacity and electric insulation, and making such cutting-edge equipment has further improved China’s manufacturing capabilities.

The State Grid Corporation of China calculated that the line will have an annual power transmission of 66 billion kilowatt hours with a transmission loss of only 1.5 percent per 1,000 kilometers, cutting 30.24 million tons of coal transport.

Thanks to the power generated by clean energy, air pollution in central and eastern China will be largely reduced. The operation of the transmission line will cut 24,000 tons of soot, 149,000 tons of sulfur dioxide and 157,000 tons of oxynitride on a yearly basis.

The success of this project shows that China’s UHV technology has reached a new high, which will enhance the country’s global competitiveness in power grid technology and electric equipment manufacturing. It has also laid a solid foundation for future international cooperation in this field."

Indeed. Just like they "invited" their Tibetan brothers to join their wonderful country.

Thai magnate calls for joint HSR efforts

"Chinese and Japanese firms are encouraged to work together on Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) to transform it into a collaborative multi-stakeholder project for the socio-economic development of emerging markets, a Thai business mogul said.

"Japan seeks to play a role in the development of Thailand's EEC, which complements the China-proposed Belt and Road (B&R) initiative," Dhanin Chearavanont, senior chairman of Thailand's largest private company, Charoen Pokphand Group (C.P. Group), said in an exclusive interview with the Global Times at the headquarters of C.P. Group in Bangkok on Thursday.

"While there is a cooperation agreement at the government level, we want to connect the private sector and entrepreneurs under the B&R principle of achieving shared growth through the spirit of dialogue and collaboration," Chearavanont said.

The EEC is a massive project promoted by the Thai government in recent years. It aims to establish economic zones in Thailand's southeastern provinces of Chachoengsao, Chonburi and Rayong with infrastructure development including high-speed railways, airports and ports.

Many projects in the corridor will use public-private partnerships to attract private investors.

Among them, the "High Speed Rail Linked 3 Airports" project (HSR linking 3 airports), which connects Thailand's Don Mueang Airport, Suvarnabhumi Airport and U-Tapao Airport in the EEC, is considered a key project of the EEC with development rights for key commercial land.

As the Chinese mainland's first foreign investor, C.P. Group has a long track record of investment and partnerships in China.

In additon, the group also has quite strong business ties with companies in Japan.

The company holds cross-shareholdings with Japan's Itochu Corp and is now operating more than 10,000 7-Eleven convenience stores, a Japanese-owned retail chain, in Thailand.

"[The HSR linking 3 airports] is not just for Thai companies to discuss and collaborate. It should also welcome international investment," said Chearavanont.

"When the EEC is transformed into a model of joint discussion, collaboration and shared growth among local and foreign companies, it will turn the attention of companies around the world to Thailand," he said.

In order to export their own domestic high-speed rail technology, China and Japan have engaged in competition in the Thai market in recent years. But this competitive atmosphere is being replaced by a growing spirit of collaboration.

Chearavanont said that he is willing to work together with both Chinese and Japanese companies to jointly develop the High Speed Rail Linked 3 Airports project.

"The HSR linking 3 airports should be technically capable of connecting with the Thailand-China high-speed railway, and it should also be able to connect with European tracks to allow interconnection. It cannot use technology that will be confined to the Thai railway network, nor can it use Japanese technology. It would be best to use European technology to ensure common connectivity. China should also make slight changes in this respect," said Chearavanont.

"[These railways] can eventually be connected with India and Europe in the future, connecting a total of 3 billion people, which would have great social and economic value," said Chearavanont.

Although Thailand has a number of high-speed rail projects under construction or planned, Chearavanont believes that the HSR linking 3 airports project in the EEC will be Thailand's first high-speed rail project to materialize.

Water tech for the world's needy

"In January this year, the company installed two sets of desalination equipment at the Gwadar Free Trade Zone, with a daily production capacity of 1,000 tons of clean drinking water. With a population of around 80,000 people, Gwadar needs to build up at least a production capability of 60,000 tons per day in the next five to 10 years in the future, said Liu Chuan.

Seeing the big potential in the local water business, Liu Chuan expects the company's revenue will surge to more than 100 million yuan ($15.5 million) this year, compared to more than 60 million yuan in 2017.
"Last year, roughly half of the revenues came from overseas projects. We aim to see revenues from overseas markets account for a larger portion of the total."

Liu Chuan said while developed European countries and the United States are competitive in terms of infrastructure construction, China has accumulated a lot of experience during recent years, shaping to be at the forefront in some specific fields.

"We've got 97 water treatment and related patents, and the number is set to hit more than 100 this year," he said. "The Belt and Road Initiative has brought new opportunities for Chinese firms to improve their technologies and enhance business operations. Every effort devoted to tackling problems will make breakthroughs."

For instance, due to the high salinity, the marine mollusks including shells usually grow quickly in the Gwadar region, which will be easily drawn into the intake pipes and block water flow. To solve the problem, the company has developed a device to prevent marine creatures from growing in the water intake pipes.

Similarly, another breakthrough was the material of water pipes-it is environmentally friendly and hygienic, which allows citizens to directly drink the tap water.
Shaikh Muhammad Shariq, chief representative at the National Bank of Pakistan, said the Belt and Road Initiative makes it easier for future cooperation between China and other countries and regions involved in the initiative.

"China has transformed tremendously during recent years, acquiring advanced technologies in many fields. And Pakistan has abundant labor as more than 60 percent of the population is under 25 years old. So, that's a good chance for Chinese companies to take their technologies to Pakistan and take advantage of the huge local labor resources," Shariq said.

According to him, as Chinese companies continue to expand globally, they should also be aware of the challenges ahead.

"They need to have a better understanding of the local market to adjust to the environment. I would suggest they should learn to cooperate with local companies and financial institutions, may be by way of joint ventures."

Liu Chuan agreed, saying he is looking for more business opportunities in the overseas markets, especially developing economies related to the Belt and Road Initiative, as they have a huge demand for infrastructure construction.

"We plan to use internet-related technologies to develop more business and apply our patents to more overseas projects, providing better water supply and water treatment solutions to local citizens."
