Is your Digital Legacy a big one ?

As I head for the final lap no real worries in the sense I don't do twitter instagram etc. Trying to go minimalist down to one bank, woman, vehicle, phone at last...

Just watching excellent BBC IT show click online about digital legacy

Was on at 3am Thai time BBC News channel can catchup here
    Teatime TV (2)
It seems Facebook will allow a designated other to curate or close your account

For UK linked Bangkok Bank will allow you transfer via them to your joint account here without having to open one there, not sure New York Office.

I regret my spouse feels obliged to spend typically 200k as in the fashion here watering the entire village and a few monks who inter ali are prawngobblers and so it goes.I said in the backyard with our late pets or a private BBQ and float down the river as fishfood,

It's been was explained to me the wake rigamaroles is all part of village life , an opportunity to mingle show off, gamble drink gossip and as she attends about 3 a month its buggins turn with each not trying to outdo each other but replicate the tent monks and stroll to the Crem , in fact the does I've been to have been utterly interchangeable apart for the face in the casket. Local pooyais rejoice to pour half a liter of Lao Khao down Khvn Falang and reduce me to my default state of jabbering monkey.

My books rarely thumbed these digital days, clarinet, bikes and laptops ,phones, promised to all and sundry. I realize once my bankcards, club memberships, passports, driving, licences expire my only legacy on this planet will be a few dusty tomes unread at my alma mater, a few family albums of happy days in the last century , kids toys, old postcards from friends long gone, snaps videos and cameos. All good and clearing out is cathartic and I discovered some nice old letters from friends and lovers in a shoebox.

So D44s legacy to humanity pile of empties to recycle, uncollected laundry for our local Hmong gardener and of course......HERE !! to join Patsy Blackgang DD and the choir eternal special members area. Amongst the dross I've learnt a lot about Thailand and had many kind tips from members here plus laughed at the ongoing soap opera

An interesting point to ponder, David.

For me, I won't make a digital will. It's not worth the effort by me or anybody who I might ask to carry it out. What is out there is out there. I really don't think TD admin would appreciate or accept an email from a complete stranger requesting all Neverna's posts with expletives be removed from the web. No, for better or worse, it will be my "legacy" to the world. My digital footprint is not big in the great scheme of things, and within a few years (or possibly much shorter) I will be forgotten about. That's OK by me. I won't be here to worry about it.

^Simple life, eh David. Seems like you are quite fulfilled. Go gently into that goodnight..; )

You are welcome... now I understand your writing.. absurd as it may seem.

As for my digital legacy.. don't really know... My photos and journals which have tracked a lot of my travels and adventures. My reference letters from employees and the children that I impact are I guess what I'll leave behind.
I often feel cut off from the world in China.. so I do use FB to connect (with a paid vpn which may cut off end of March), but not into twitter and such.

' often feel cut off from the world in China'

It was the last century and I was in a village called Nanjing the ancient capital in the pre KFC post KMT era.

As well as my Czech Canadian and African friends there were a few locals around, 100k at Nanda and up to 7 million milling around looking for capitalism.

There must be thousands of Anglophone expats who you can intermingly with in Over the Sea and the Wang Bros, keep posting and ignore the knockers.....in a knobby not chesty way

Anyway my advice is dated , maybe the thoughts of Chairman Mao Ze Lulu, Cujo the Dugless face of the Drag On or Tonghzi Grind Her App may suit and tibke yer synapses.

I'm guessing that My long Criminal record spanning two countries will be kept on digital after I'm gone. They've had My fingerprints for decades so if My corpse is found and unidentifiable it should easily be identified by My prints.
