Russian Envoy to UN Schools US Ambassador Haley in Diplomatic Etiquette

UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) – Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia on Wednesday called on his US counterpart Nikki Haley and the US delegation at the United Nations to observe diplomatic decorum and not refer to the Russian authorities as a regime of President Vladimir Putin.

During a session devoted to the UN Charter, Haley called Russia a destabilizing force in the situation in eastern Ukraine. The US diplomat added that what she called regimes of Putin, Syrian President Bashar Assad, and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un were acting unpunished on the international arena.

"I would like to remind permanent representative Haley – there is no "regime" in Russia, but a legally elected president and appointed government. I would like to ask the US delegation to observe at least basic diplomatic decorum in the future. By the way, there is also a legitimate government in Syria, whether you like it or not," Nebenzya said at a United Nations Security Council session.

This is not the first time the US Permanent Representative to the United Nations comes under fire over professionalism issues. Last year, her tweet on North Korea caused quite a stir online.

The complaint about having to work during holidays made internet users feel that she was forgetting that she “signed up for this job.”

Also, earlier Haley suggested that the US was the "moral conscience of the world," saying that she would work to make the organization a tool for promoting American values.

Such statement was strongly criticised by alternative news media and some foreign officials. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova responded to the statement in a post on her Facebook page, saying that "The UN is a chance given to humanity to prevent new world wars, which come about as a result of an overabundance of feeling about one's own exclusivity."

This time new sheriff in town did not succeeded, the islands in Micronesia were not enough (Kingdom of Tongo did not come?)
However nothing will get changed (not so tragic as the case with Skripals):

UN General Assembly condemns Israel for ‘excessive’ force at Gaza border
After US amendment censuring Hamas is rejected on procedural grounds, 120 countries vote in favor of resolution calling for 'protection' for Palestinian civilians

With a huge majority, the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday passed a resolution condemning Israel for using “excessive, disproportionate and indiscriminate” force during the recent clashes at the Gaza border and calling for an “international protection mechanism” for Palestinian civilians.

The dramatic, down to the wire session saw the United States attempt to add a paragraph condemning Hamas, which was ultimately rejected on procedural grounds though most member states supported it. The resolution, proposed by Algeria and Turkey, then passed with 120 “yes” votes, 8 “no” votes and 45 abstentions.

The eight countries that voted against the resolution were the US, Israel, Australia, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Togo and the Solomon Islands.

US ambassador calls for Maduro ouster with megaphone diplomacy

United Nations (United States) (AFP) - The US ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, on Thursday joined Venezuelan protesters outside the world body headquarters and called for the ouster of President Nicolas Maduro.

Haley's embrace of demonstrators was highly unusual for a diplomat from a major power at the staid United Nations and came a day after President Donald Trump hinted at military options against Maduro's leftist government.

"We are going to fight for Venezuela and we are going to continue doing it until Maduro is gone!" Haley shouted from a megaphone.

"We need your voices to be loud and I will tell you, the US voice is going to be loud," she said.

Given that people aren't allowed to buy food if they don't vote for Maduro, shouting at them with a megaphone is not going to work.

Trump accepts Nikki Haley's surprise resignation as UN ambassador
    Published time: 9 Oct, 2018

President Trump has accepted Nikki Haley’s resignation as UN ambassador. Haley had wanted some time off and discussed her resignation with Trump last week at the White House.

In announcing her resignation, Trump said on Tuesday that Haley first broached the subject six months ago, when she told the president that she wanted to take some time off at the end of the year. Trump said that he hopes Haley will one day return to his administration, and told her “you can have your pick” of positions within it.

Haley will depart at the end of the year, and Trump said that he “will be in constant touch” with her afterwards.

Before John Bolton's hiring, Nikki Haley was probably the most pro-war, pro-imperialist high-ranking Trump official, and therefore the most beloved Trump official by the war-loving US media. She held every conventional foreign policy view that has generated so much destruction.
