Nigel Farage shelters on campaign bus to avoid milkshake attack
Brexit party leader told to remain on vehicle after possible assailants spotted
Nigel Farage has been forced to seek refuge on his campaign bus after being stalked by people carrying milkshakes in Kent, according to reports.
The Brexit party leader and his campaign team seemed keen to avoid a repeat of events in Newcastle on Monday, when he was doused in banana and salted caramel milkshake after making a speech.
Following a tour of Dartford and Gravesend before Thursday’s EU elections, things took an unfortunate turn for Farage in Rochester, where three young men wearing balaclavas with their hoods up were spotted by a supporter.
He was then told to stay on the bus. Its driver, Michael Bolton, told the Kent Live website: “There are a couple of guys standing over there with milkshakes, they were going to throw them over him. But the police are there, we’ve spotted them and now Nigel isn’t getting off the bus.”
According to Kent Live, Farage eventually got off the bus but remained cautiously close to the vehicle as he spoke to some of his supporters, despite having strolled along the high street in the other Kent towns.
Police liaison officers in Rochester also spoke to two men shouting anti-Farage slogans at the bus while holding iced lattes, according to the Mirror.
The former EDL leader Tommy Robinson, who is standing as an independent, and the Ukip MEP candidate Carl Benjamin have also been “milkshaked” by protesters in the run-up to the vote.
Asked by Kent Live whether he had a spare suit with him, Farage did not respond.

Admit I know nothing about the man but if this piece is even semi accurate, he appears a political force to be reckoned with.

Nigel is a clown, like LePen
but like Trump, he is a necessary evil because he is putting upside down the stupidity of the old elite ruling class
Sterling fell to €1.13 on Thursday morning, extending its worst run against the single currency since it started trading in 1999. Sterling has fallen for 13 consecutive days against the euro and was on track to extend that record on Thursday after another 0.4 per cent drop by mid-morning
The pound also slipped a quarter of a cent against the dollar, taking its losses over the past three weeks to 3 per cent.
Traders priced in an increased likelihood of the UK crashing out of the EU without a deal
looks like we will have to wait for quite a while for a new PM
Theresa May quits: UK set for new PM by end of July
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-48395905
Theresa May has said she will quit as Conservative leader on 7 June, paving the way for a contest to decide a new prime minister.
In an emotional statement, she said she had done her best to deliver Brexit and it was a matter of "deep regret" that she had been unable to do so.
Mrs May said she would continue to serve as PM while a Conservative leadership contest takes place.
The party said it hoped a new leader could be in place by the end of July.
It means Mrs May will still be prime minister when US President Donald Trump makes his state visit to the UK at the start of June.
Mrs May announced she would step down as Tory leader on 7 June and had agreed with the chairman of Tory backbenchers that a leadership contest should begin the following week.
No Brexit without Farage and he's basically caused the end of Cameron and now Doris. As I've said only way Tories can save themselves now is to elect a Brexiteer who will deliver, ideally Boris but Raab or Mcvey will suffice.
how are they going to achieve this when the majority of the UK parliament wants to remain? it will just be the other face of the coin, and they will oppose any options without a firm agreement, aka No Hard Brexit
and didn't they vote unanimously against a hard brexit option recently?
I think the plan is to take control of the UKs vote in Europe and then veto absolutely everything.
That is actually a magnificent bargaining chip if it happens. We'll all be sipping Chateau do Chateaulea and if you tell the young kids of today that - they won't believe you.
Hard Brexit is still the default option if the deal isn't passed, we just need a PM who will take us out. Doris could have taken us out on March 29 with no deal but she chose not to despite repeatedly saying no deal is better than a bad deal which hers is and said over 100 times we would be leaving on March 29. If whoever becomes PM doesn't take us out in October they will be doomed too.
A new face doesn't make the problems disappear, the problems of a divided country and parliament are still there.
The parliament has to approve the exit and of all the alternative they got to vote for this spring there was only one which got the majority of votes and that was no hard brexit.
Parliament has to approve any deal re Gina Miller court case and if no deal approved we leave with no deal, no deal doesn't need to be approved by parliament as it's already the law. Only way no deal gets stopped if a deal isn't passed by parliament is ask for another extension or revoke A50.
Good old Mrs May. Her speech helped Sterling rally against the Euro this afternoon.
