I agree, problem is that Brexiteers are forever playing the victim card about being bullied by the EU Dictatorship. The EU is NOT a dictatorship and calling it that is a massive insult to those that have lived through one or unfortunate enough to be living in one. Sure, there is a lot of bureaucracy from the EU, but to liken them to the likes of Idi Amin, Pol Pot et al is moronic and just adds more proof to the pudding that Brexiteers are a rather dim and ignorant lot.

Sorry, but policy of the EU is formed and tabled by the unelected Commission. The European Parliament are merely signing off on their recommendations. Dictatorship, obviously not, but accountability is sorely lacking for the Commission.

A problem clearly, but not a good enough reason to leave the EU. The problem can be solved by public pressure and political will, but not if you're not part of the equation.

The Commission cannot legislate, it merely executes laws passed by member states through their elected representatives in concert with the Council of Europe, you mofo ignoramus. The Commission is the EU's civil service, it administers.

It was always a challenge to get into. Fuckers demanded two languages, one of course was English. We always fancied it when the trawls came round because of the expenses and allowances - next to the UN and one's own Foreign Office, the EU was the Holy Grail.

Great office to be in though, the cadre of workers in the EU were the creme de la creme, all bright as buttons and smart as whips with great women. Food was fantastic and travel at weekends to Europe's hot spots was a real peach.

One of life's regrets I never cracked it.

It is very easy to criticise a system and certainly much easier to do than replacing it with something better. Not a single solution has been put forward that betters the status quo. Brexit has been and will continue to be an expensive failure.

don't laugh but a few years ago, I was thinking of joining ESMA in Paris, a lot of interesting perk and tax free, I wanted to put my contribution and my expertise for market analytics and better regulation

even met some head guys and had a tour of the place, and near the PM office

great food and very nice premises in the middle of Paris

Whilst it is true that the commissioners and president are not directly elected, there is still an election procedure that has to be met. They are also accountable, the whole commission can be removed by a 2/3 censure vote.

It isn't quite as undemocratic as the UK media would have you believe.
