Problem with referendums is that they tend to be litmus tests taking the temperature of the howling, baying mob in the street and in truth, who really gives a fuck what they think.

The British underclasses and the lower end are simply not qualified to vote on specific issues they ill comprehend which is why we have avoided referendums in preference to pursuing a tradition of parliamentary democracy whereby important and difficult decisions are taken by elected representatives who are equipped to analyse and debate the issues and then weigh them fairly in accordance with democratic principles and protocols.

The seldom understood truth of referendums is that in many instances the vote is used as a proxy for something else - in the 2016 vote most of the trash voting against the EU were simply giving Cameron a black eye for his austerity regime or to keep more niggers, coons and muzzies out of Britain ( the English scum conferred honorary coon status on East Europeans, Romanians and Bulgars ).

The real problem of our democracy is that at present we have a government hostage to right wing cvunts and an incoherent rabble in opposition.
