White supremacists riot--state of emergency declared

Supporters gathered in Emancipation Park Saturday morning in anticipation of a noon rally held by "Unite the Right." The aim of the rally was to protest the removal of a statue honoring Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee. The park was formerly known as Lee Park.

State police and members of the Virginia National Guard surrounded the park after McAuliffe declared a state of emergency and the city of Charlottesville declared the alt-right protest an unlawful assembly effectively cancelling the demonstration before its planned start time.

City police estimate between 2,000 and 6,000 people were expected to attend the "Unite the Right" rally, according to local paper The Daily Progress. The controversial event was seeking to unify the far-right wing and "affirm the right of Southerners and white people to organize for their interests," according to its Facebook page.

McAuliffe said he declared a state of emergency to allow for a response to quell the violence.

It is now clear that public safety cannot be safeguarded without additional powers, and that the mostly out-of-state protesters have come to Virginia to endanger our citizens and property," McAuliffe said in a statement released shortly before noon. "I am disgusted by the hatred, bigotry and violence these protesters have brought to our state over the past 24 hours."

White nationalists, as well as apparent neo-Nazis and Ku Klux Klan members, were met in opposition by clergy members and other groups, who stood in a line singing "This Little Light of Mine" to drown out the profanity and slurs.

type of language originate? I've noticed a lot of Americans using it recently.
Was it populated by some libtard TV show or something?

Funny how these stick carrying thugs can march to stop others free speech, under the name ''anti-fascists''.
But I bet if a counter group marched, every time there was a gay shame parade, and called themselves Anti paedophiles, the press would not repeat it verbatim without challenging the name.
And yet way more homos are pedos that nationalists are fascists.

And fuck knows what they have against General lee, i used to love that car in Dukes of Hazzard

It was an incredible scene, 23-year-old Thomas Pilnik, who captured the anti-racist counter-demonstration on video, told HuffPost. It was the most beautiful counter-rally.

Moments later, a car plowed into the crowd, and bodies went flying.

The victim who died was a 32-year-old female, Chief Al Thomas of the Charlottesville Police Department said at a news conference.

Youtube video above was copied from twitter: https://twitter.com/UR_Ninja/status/896434999603240962 - https://twitter.com/Rebelutionary_Z/...40317607587841

The Dodge Challenger is registered to 20-year-old James Alex Fields of Ohio, according to vehicle registration records reviewed by The Washington Post. Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail Superintendent Martin Kumer told The Post that a man with the same name and age was booked Saturday on suspicion of second-degree murder, malicious wounding, failure to stop for an accident involving a death, and hit and run. Kumer said Fields is currently being held without bail.

Fields Jr. is a resident of Maumee, Ohio. He is registered to vote in Lucas County, Ohio and put his party affiliation as Republican

In a press conference, the Charlottesville Police Chief, Al Thomas, said the crash was premeditated

"Earlier in the day, former Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan David Duke credited Trump with inspiring the rally in an interview with a Indianapolis Star reporter."

Then Trump condemns violence from "all sides" as if the counter protesters also drove a car into a crowd.

maybe this one with the baseball bat dressed up as a flag
the one with the Palestinian style scarf
or the big mouthed Brit? wearing the Arsenal shirt ..

They should have gone to the park and fed the ducks instead of trying to shut down free speech.
Now 2 police have died in a helicopter because of them

Reminds me of the New York Bikers that took over a road a few years ago. Pulling in front of the cars telling them to move over.

One Chink family in an SUV didn't and they kept on attacking it for a few km. Chinky snapped and drove over those in his way, killing one and paralyzing another for life, last I heard Chinky was cleared of all charges and Mr. Wheelchair doesn't get compo. Was an interesting story.

There was violence from all kinds of scum at that rally. As yet no one knows who the driver was or the motivation. It's not like anyone cares about the dead and injured beyond using them as props to continue screaming about trump.

3 Killed in Violence at Virginia Rally of White Supremacist Groups

One person died Saturday when someone drove a car through a crowd of protesters at a white supremacist rally in the city of Charlottesville, Virginia, and two others died later in a helicopter crash that police say was linked to the rally.

At least two dozen other people were injured in car incident.

Virginia police said they have the driver of the car in custody, and they say they are treating the incident as a criminal homicide investigation.

Charlottesville Mayor Mike Singer said on Twitter he is "heartbroken" about the death and urged all those still at the protest site to go home.

President Donald Trump, speaking midafternoon from New Jersey, condemend "the egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides" in Charlottesville.

Trump, who was preparing to sign a bill to extend a veterans health care program, called for a "swift restoration of law and order" in the city, adding "no citizen should ever fear for their safety and security."

The helicopter crash Saturday afternoon happened outside the city. The pilot and a passenger were killed. Police have not released details of the crash.

The car ramming occurred as people were leaving the area after police deemed the demonstration unlawful when multiple bouts of violence broke out at the rally between demonstrators and counter-protesters.

Video of the fights show armor-clad, shield-carrying demonstrators trading punches with similarly armed counter-protesters as they marched in the city of Charlottesville.

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe said on Twitter he declared a state of emergency "to aid state response to violence at alt-right rally in Charlottesville."

"The acts and rhetoric in Charlottesville over past 24 hours are unacceptable and must stop. A right to speech is not a right to violence," he wrote in a post on Twitter.

Earlier Saturday, Trump responded to the violence on Twitter, urging all sides to "come together as one" and condemning "hate."

The gathering at the University in Virginia, dubbed the “Unite the Right” rally, previously prompted the state’s governor to warn people to stay away from the campus.

A smaller group of demonstrators also rallied Friday night, marching through the campus carrying tiki torches and shouting slogans like “white lives matter,” in preparation for the larger Saturday event.

As they marched Friday the group of white marchers encountered a group of counter-protesters and a small scuffle ensued. A chemical irritant was sprayed into the crowd and police were able to break up the clash. At least one person was arrested and a few people were treated for minor injuries.

The larger rally Saturday was expected to draw crowds of 2,000 to 6,000 people who are upset about the planned removal of a statue commemorating the memory of Confederate Civil War General Robert E. Lee.

"What has unfolded in Charlottesville, Virginia today is a national tragedy fueled by bigotry, white nationalism, and home grown terrorism.
Freedom of speech is not a license for the incitement of violence. And the neo-Nazis and KKK members who gathered are anathema to everything this country should stand for.
For too long President Trump was silent. But when he did speak his refusal to call out the hatred for what it is, and his general message of false equivalence was disgusting and counterproductive. "This egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides.” That's a dangerous misrepresentation of history from a politician who has bigotry as a large part of his base.
All decent Americans of all political persuasions cannot allow these actions to remain unchallenged - both the hatred on display in Charlottesille and the rhetoric of the President."

VA Gov to white nationalists: 'We are stronger than you'

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) rippe white supremacists who sparked violence in Charlottesville, Va. on Saturday, saying there is no place for them in the country.

"I have a message to all of the white supremacists and the Nazis who came into Charlottesville today. Our message is plain and simple. Go home. You are not wanted in this great commonwealth. Shame on you. You pretend that you're patriots, but you are anything but a patriot," McAuliffe said at a press conference.

"My message is clear. We are stronger than you. You will not succeed. There is no place for you here, there is no place for you in America," he continued.

The governor went on to call for toned down rhetoric across the country.

"The hatred and rhetoric that has gone on and has intensified over the past couple of months is dividing this great nation. We need to work together. I told the president that twice, be willing to work with you if we can work together to bring people together," McAuliffe said.
The governor's comments came after violent clashes engulfed the small, college town after a white nationalist rally.

Three people were killed and dozens were injured during the violent events.

President Trump condemned the violence at a press conference earlier, however, he appeared to blame "many sides" and did not mention white supremacy by its name.

"We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides," Trump said at a press conference.

"It's been going on for a long time in our country. Not Donald Trump not Barack Obama. This has been going on for a long, long time," he said.

    Horror and hate in Charlottesville

CHARLOTTESVILLE — Clashes between “alt-right” white nationalists and counter-protesters turned this Virginia college town into a battlefield on Saturday, leaving three people dead and more than a dozen injured after a car plowed into a crowd of counter-protestors.

The fatal crash came a day after white supremacists already in town for the “Unite the Right” rally scheduled for Saturday marched through Charlottesville with torches, clashing with outnumbered left-wing activists.

The images of torch-lit white nationalists occupying the center of an American city went viral on social media, increasing the pressure on liberal activists to prevent Saturday's event.

Saturday saw many storefronts in Charlottesville shuttered ahead of expected fighting, which began hours before the noon start time for the planned right-wing rally.

The event brought various white nationalist groups together, and was meant to protest Charlottesville's removal of a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee.

The event never began, with a state of emergency declared and the white nationalists pushed out of the park before white nationalist leaders like Richard Spencer could even take the stage. Violent clashes between both sides ahead of the event left several bloodied.

After their rally was quashed, roughly 100 dejected white nationalists tried to regroup at a more distant park.

At that point, they were more interested in getting out of Charlottesville and performing makeshift medical care on their political allies than returning to the scene of the clashes. One man proposed retreating to nearby woods to avoid police or antifascist protesters.

“Our plan is to get out of here,” said one man who refused to give his name. “Everyone is scattered.”

Still, they fumed over their ejection.

One man in a white military helmet with a walker talkie, who declined to give his name, spoke about a need for “shooters” who could return to the center of Charlottesville and catalogued with his political allies the number of guns available to them.

Another man with a walkie-talkie put out a call asking for help from “all goys” in the area, a reference to non-Jews. Others heckled a reporter with anti-Semitic slurs, asking how many “shekels” the man would get.

Spencer, who rallied with a number of other white nationalist leaders, including ex-KKK Imperial Wizard and former Senate candidate David Duke, urged the crowd to disperse but complained that the police hadn't defended their event against the left-wing activists.

“They did not protect us,” Spencer said.

While the alt-right retreated, anarchists and left-wing counter-protesters were beginning to hype each other up.

“Antifa” counter-protesters enjoyed their victory, with some burning flags affiliated with white nationalist causes.

Rumors circulated that the white nationalists had intended to go into a primarily African-American neighborhood of Charlottesville to intimidate people.

One group of counter-protestors circled a group of 10-15 men and women who identified themselves as local militiamen and all wore camouflage clothing in a downtown parking lot.

As a few of the militia men, some carrying rifles and two wearing “make American great again” hats, got into a grey Lexus SUV, counter-protesters circled and shouted at them to renounce the KKK and get out of town.

As their SUV pulled out, counter protesters chased it down, throwing rocks, bottles, and a shoe, attempting to smash its windows.

Hundreds of counter-protestors marched down Water Street chanting “Whose streets? Our streets!”

As the crowd approached the corner of Water and Fourth Street, they were told that neighborhood residents did not want them to turn right to go further into the neighborhood.

“You guys, we spoke to community organizers,” one counter protester shouted. “We need to turn back. Walk up that street,” he shouted, gesturing to the wide alley to the crowd's left.

Those marching listened, and turned left to go in the opposite direction.

The mood also seemed to shift, as some at the front of the line danced and others spoke of having driven “the racists out of town.”

Suddenly, screams and a repeated thumping sound could be heard.

A grey Dodge Challenger was driving through the crowd at an accelerated speed, and bodies were banging against its windshield.

People began screaming loudly for medical attention as at least four people were on the ground.

The car paused for a moment, before reversing in full speed and running into more people.

Bodies were strewn up and down the block, with groups clustered around each one seeking to help. Pools of blood formed under some of the most grievously wounded.

Many people who said they had medical training tried to help the injured. People tied swatches of fabric and bandanas around wounds to try to stem the bleeding.

The white nationalist leaders were giving speeches to their disappointed supporters when video of the car driving into protesters across town began to go viral on social media.

Citing a supposed attack from left-wing protesters or a possible police arrival, the remaining white power supporters hurried to their cars.

But Spencer promised that the white nationalists aren't done with Charlottesville, singling out several local officials for criticism.

“We are never backing down, we are going to be back here,” Spencer said.

Hours later, people lingered at the site where the protesters were run over, trying to figure out what had happened and why.

“Them people getting run over is ridiculous. It should have never gotten that far,” said a man who identified himself as a Charlottesville resident. “That car should have been nowhere around there. Police is supposed to keep order. They should have blocked off the street and kept people 100 yards apart.”

“I can't understand how any of this happened,” one woman said ahead of a vigil planned for later Saturday night on the University of Virginia lawn.
