RT can be good, but Aljazeera is even better.
RT can be good, but Aljazeera is even better.
A documentary on DW (Deutsche Welle) in English from satellite about one of the best pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim who turns 75.
A critical view of German international channel who rarely differs from the MSM line, in line of their Big Brothers.
Daniel Barenboim at 75: Classical music's most influential star
He is the general music director of the Berlin State Opera, and the Staatskapelle Berlin; he previously served as Music Director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris and La Scala in Milan. Barenboim is known for his work with the West–Eastern Divan Orchestra, a Seville-based orchestra of young Arab and Israeli musicians, and as a resolute critic of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
Fortune magazine listed Barenboim among the world's 50 greatest leaders in 2015. The name Barenboim has clout: hardly any other classical musician has earned equal attention including that of the world's political leaders.
Born in 1942 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Argentinian-Jewish parents, started piano lessons at the age of five. At the age of seven, he gave his first formal concert in his hometown, Buenos Aires.
A citizen of Argentina, Spain, Israel and Palestine, Barenboim remains an outspoken critic of Israeli policy. "It truly pains him that Israel has taken this direction," says his wife, Elena Bashkirova. "In Israel, he's been spat on, on the street and mobbed. Sometimes he even needs a bodyguard."
2001: Barenboim conducts the "Liebestod" (Love-Death) from Richard Wagner's opera "Tristan and Isolde" in Tel Aviv. Some listeners leave the hall in rage, and there are subsequent protests in the Knesset. (Wagner had been a favorite conductor of the Nazis.)
2005: At a concert in Ramallah in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, Barenboim leads an orchestra of young Israelis, Palestinians and musicians from various Arab countries who have traveled there under extremely trying conditions. "Sometimes the impossible is much easier than the difficult," he says.
But more than decade later, even Barenboim's optimism could probably not overcome the obstacles of the intractable Mideast political situation.
Yet the maestro continues to operate on the principle he expressed in 2005, saying, "this concert will not bring peace. But what it will bring is understanding, patience and curiosity for the other person's story."

BTW, as discussed here recently about war criminals, Alastair Campbell was very instrumental in advising Tony Blair in his propaganda war and the famous dossier. Finally, he resigned during the Hutton inquiry of dr Kelly's death (resulting in nothing, how else). Why not to use him again by the incumbent PM?
I'm embarrassed to say that I had not previously heard of them. I didn't look at the news about Guantanamo Bay. There was as Aussie there for a while and I got tired of news about him.

Breaking the Silence
Secret internal documents reveal how Church officials protect priests accused of pedophilia by moving them from country to country, sometimes as far away as Africa. They call it “the geographical solution”. Even Pope Francis is implicated. When he was bishop of Buenos Aires, he tried to influence the Argentinean justice system in order to protect a convicted priest. From Cameroon to Argentina, America to France and Italy, this investigation traces the transfers of pedophile priests.

Don't watch too much of that RT communist bullshit. Look what it has done to OhOh
ARTE is a good alternative.

^So you think Pilger is a commie too?
I have seen some good docos on Al Jazeera, even one or two on RT as well as BBc Euronews ,ABC and BBC. Yet to see a good one on CGTN. The thing with any documentary aired on a govt funded station to me is have I seen any criicism of governments that fund them? I have seen both BBC and especially ABC criticise Everyone in government from the prime minister down, in fact some government MPs have lost their jobs and on occasion their seats. This tends to tell me regardless of their left bias the stories have some credibility. I've never seen an article critical of the government on RT, Al jazeera or CGTN.
^There are two different criticizings: criticizing their own govt, however, not for their criminal politics causing the massacres in Middle East, not for the govt's Russophobia causing further dangerous tensions in the world, not for supporting "rogue" terrorists, etc., you name it. In contrary, that media helps to sell the war, disseminating lies and deceptions.
So, when somebody like John Pilger wants to speak about that, he has to come to such media as RT, AJ, and similar.
^Was I inaccurate?
