Jared Kushner

this is the guy responsible for:
  • brokering peace between the israelis and palestinians
  • reorganizing the US federal government (seriously)
  • negotiating relations with both mexico and canada.
  • oh, and as you can see in the photo above, he's in iraq too.

to my knowledge there has never been a member of any other administration with such extensive responsibilities.

but you might be thinking...well, maybe he's incredibly qualified for this diverse array of tasks that would normally take a team of highly seasoned professional to accomplish successfully.

i guess....if you consider his only real experience was running his family's real estate business while his father was in prison.

btw, you would be excused for thinking that photo was a still taken from a wes anderson movie.

Overt consistent lack of capitalisation in sentences is an indicator of insecurity, isn't it?

I just spent a minute trying to think of a device that does not have auto-correct. 4 different device OS units at the house now and all of them auto-correct the first letter of a sentence.

Ray, what kind of potato are you posting from? And why cant you capitalize to save your life?

I mean, you got the thread title correct with proper capitalization, so your device is capable.... Do you just ignore all the red lines and edit suggestions?

The Story Behind Jared Kushner’s Curious Acceptance into Harvard

ProPublica editor Daniel Golden wrote a book a decade ago about how the rich buy their children access to elite colleges. One student he covered is now poised to become one of the most powerful figures in the country.

My book exposed a grubby secret of American higher education: that the rich buy their under-achieving children’s way into elite universities with massive, tax-deductible donations. It reported that New Jersey real estate developer Charles Kushner had pledged $2.5 million to Harvard University in 1998, not long before his son Jared was admitted to the prestigious Ivy League school. At the time, Harvard accepted about one of every nine applicants. (Nowadays, it only takes one out of twenty.)

I also quoted administrators at Jared’s high school, who described him as a less than stellar student and expressed dismay at Harvard’s decision.

“There was no way anybody in the administrative office of the school thought he would on the merits get into Harvard,” a former official at The Frisch School in Paramus, New Jersey, told me. “His GPA did not warrant it, his SAT scores did not warrant it. We thought for sure, there was no way this was going to happen. Then, lo and behold, Jared was accepted. It was a little bit disappointing because there were at the time other kids we thought should really get in on the merits, and they did not.”

..... My Kushner discoveries were an offshoot of my research for a chapter on Harvard donors. Somebody had slipped me a document I had long coveted: the membership list of Harvard’s Committee on University Resources. The university wooed more than 400 of its biggest givers and most promising prospects by putting them on this committee and inviting them to campus periodically to be wined, dined, and subjected to lectures by eminent professors.

My idea was to figure out how many children of these corporate titans, oil barons, money managers, lawyers, high-tech consultants and old-money heirs had gone to Harvard. A disproportionate tally might suggest that the university eased its standards for the offspring of wealthy backers.

I began working through the list, poring over “Who’s Who in America” and Harvard class reunion reports for family information. Charles and Seryl Kushner were both on the committee. I had never heard of them, but their joint presence struck me as a sign that Harvard’s fundraising machine held the couple in especially fond regard.
https://www.propublica.org/article/t...e-into-harvard

With both parents on the Harvard committee, a rich criminal his daddy, and a Potus as father in law, it seems Jared was always destined for great things- never mind the fact he was a dumbass student. That's modern day amerka folks- merit be damned.

but back to jared...apparently he and bannon are battling over turf.

Donald Trump’s chief strategist Stephen Bannon has called the president’s senior advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner a “cuck” and a “globalist” during a time of high tension between the two top aides, several Trump administration officials told The Daily Beast.
The fighting between Kushner and Bannon has been “nonstop” in recent weeks, according to sources who spoke on condition of anonymity. It’s been an “open secret” that Bannon and Kushner often clash “face-to-face,” according to senior officials.

Word is, Kushner is behind several embarrassing leaks involving Bannon, and others he is in a bitch fight with. Joe Scarborough is his main conduit.

'The West Wing' has got nothing on this. House of Cards?

The story then goes on to explain that there is nothing curious about it at all. Who'd have thought? The Onion ran a very good satirical piece on Kushner, which was apparently well distributed around the White House. He can fit in peace in the Middle East next week as he has a two hour window in his diary after lunch on Thursday.

Bannon already had the look of a homeless man - he may be assuming the status before too long.

For the Israelis considering his family business's massive financial interests and debt there.
He does have the look of a fairly diligent trainee though.

Wait...what? Not that long ago it was 'common knowledge' that Bannon was the grand puppeteer of the Trump show.

Right out of the gate Chocolate Jesus had Rahm Emanuel, Orange Jesus has Jared Kushner.

Seems there's always a 13th Tribal 'handler'...They're 2.5%(being generous) of our total population but seem to be so ubiquitous in US influence, power and wealth structures. Why is that?

By "better" do you mean completely sympathise with Israel, turn a blind eye to Israel's crimes, and attempt to broker peace from the standpoint of "Palestinians must capitulate"?

Yes, he's in over his head me thinks.

Sone in law to Trumpy.

I assume this is not a good pick for what he is allegedly in charge of doing.

Also, RAY CAREY:

Tony Blair was payed a lot of lot of money to sort this conflict out.
He achieved nothing at all, now it's obvious that Israel does not listen to any advice.
Just think of our Fluke. Israel negotiates just like Fluke.

What kind of CV would an exemplar world leader need?

Oxford PPE? Harvard Law? Or being locked up for ages so that everyone thinks you're nice?

Aren't most of the Chinese leaders engineers?
