Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin had a previously undisclosed hour-long meeting at the Group of 20 summit in Germany - NZ Herald

Trump goes to the G20 under the shadow of the whole 'Russian thing'. All he has to do is make sure that no bad optics came of it...

You had one job, Donald. One job.

    Boggles the mind doesn't it.

It's so stupid, so ill-advised and ridiculous, that you actually start to think that it might be affected and it's actually all part of some genius Machiavellian plan to appear stupid to lull opponents into a false sense of security.

And then you realise no, it's just stupid. Just plain 'ole run-of-the-mill garden variety stupid.

Really stupid is Trump saying that the health care system would be so easy to fix and insurance costs would be a tiny fraction of what they were under Obamacare. Then holding a celebration in the Rose Garden when the House passed a piece of legislation that he later characterized as MEAN. And then divorcing himself from the process entirely as Mitch McConnell crafted another bill in secret that would deprive 24 million from coverage and deliver massive tax cuts to the rich. And when that bill failed to gather enough support among his own majority party to even come to a vote and then blame Democrats. The real stupid is now saying that he will just let Obamacare die thereby totally divorcing himself from his promises and possibly throwing sick people off of coverage entirely,

Obamacare was going to die eventually or bankrupt too many people and companies the way it was structured

Americans are really stuck in a hard place, you can't expect Republicans to fix it, but Democrats could try to find a solution to fix it and get the help of Trump in the process, he would work with them.

But of course the Dems are too stupid and too busy chasing Russians under his bed

Obamacare was going to die as soon as Rubio engineered the subsidies during its nascent years to be pulled.

It was sabotaged from day one.

What's wrong with Obamacare can be fixed. Other things that Sanders is talking about can be included. Trump's negativity is causing providers to lose confidence in the future of Obamacare. He is as responsible as anyone for it's demise. It will not die quickly so something needs to be done.

Furthermore to your point Democrats were not included in any meetings. Maybe it's time for Trump to show some actual leadership and bring both Democrats and Republicans together to try and hammer out some bipartisan agreements instead of pandering to the 36% of the electorate that represent his base.

you really like to rewrite history, don't you ?

Trump was quite frank about it from the start, and alarming everyone of the risks, instead of trying to play it down and cover it up like the Obama team did. He was a vocal critic of it, and thank god he did. Now you could question his style in doing so, and yes he was combative and unconstructive.

as for the Dems being excluded and the negativity. That's rich when you sore losers from Day 1 tried to exclude him from a legitimate presidency and has been accusing him of everything under the sun. Being hysterical about "fake" Russians allegations and create negative campains against Trump with the silly Russian angle is not really providing a bi-partisan working environment to solve a key legislature greatly needed for all Americans.

You guys on both sides are just sad and desperate, but very entertaining

It is not dying and the fixes are pretty easy. For example mandating insurers to provide coverage state wide and not just picking and choosing what counties that they provide coverage. If you want to do business in a specific state you have to provide blanket coverage.

Also limiting the insurance companies from raising fees. In my state insurers have billions of dollars in reserve yet they are still raising rates. They should be held accountable for this.

Just those two things would make a huge difference. Republicans still will not bother. The truth is they could fucking careless about people suffering unless those people are rich oligarchs.

He's president and so far he has shown no leadership. Only petty vindictiveness toward those that criticize and disagree with him. The Russian angle is bi-partisan and the only one lying and obstructing is Donald J. Trump and the problems he has are of his own making because of this.

the petty investigation is not accomplishing anything, so how can you create a real constructive environment when the legislative body is working against the executive body ?

Obamacare is fucked and will die a slow painful death, all thanks to the Republicans AND the Democrats

The job description of opposition politicians doesn't include 'babysit massive orange babies that are temperamentally and otherwise unqualified for the office of POTUS'.

Probably should have tried to make an effort to fix the system instead of barfing up some worthless dogshit over two weeks. Granted, this was the Republican leadership plan more than Trump. Still very stupid of Trump to go along with it. Looked like a spectator for the entire process, and never bothered to even discuss broad themes of what the bill should look like, which is normally where the President has a fair amount of leverage.

right, and you believed him ?

all those candidates are incompetent, only the tenure of the office will mold their leadership. A bit hard for now with Trump, he is a slow learner

IIRC, he was going to repeal and replace on day one. He was also going to start work on "The Wall"/fence/big glass window on day one. And wasn't he going to start investigating Hillary on day one as well?

I think he went and played golf instead.
