Trump friend says president considering firing Mueller

A friend of President Trump said Monday that Trump is considering firing special counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading the FBI investigation into potential ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.

“I think he’s considering perhaps terminating the special counsel,” Chris Ruddy told PBS’ Judy Woodruff on “PBS NewsHour.”

“I think he’s weighing that option.”

“I personally think it would be a very significant mistake,” Ruddy continued, “even though I don’t think there’s a justification ... for a special counsel.”

Ruddy said there are several conflicts that could arise with Mueller as special counsel, including the fact that his former law firm represents members of Trump’s family and that Mueller interviewed for the position of FBI Director after Trump fired James Comey.

Back to The Atlantic article and Russian interference in the election.

I actually thought you, Neo, would see this article in a good light, since Mike Lofgren wrote the book on the deep state in America.

Russia is making ties and signing deals with right wing and nationalist parties over Europe which share the same ideology. They aim to undermine the current European governments and their partnerships by linking with those radicals. Would stand to reason they would try the same thing in America to weaken the government and the government's international partnerships. This only benefits Putin.

The internal rot you speak of in America is being exploited by Russians by means of the internet. Russian fake news has found new and fertile ground in the US alt-right. The alt-right is the American version of nationalist who also have the same agenda as Putin in that they are anti-globalist, anti-immigrant, anti-feminist, and basically anti-human rights. They are anti-intellectual, and mostly religious nutters who are inclined to want war and Putin is their new, White, darling. This disease is spreading into the mainstream by the likes of Hannity, Limbaugh, and the true idiot, Alex Jones.

Trump and his associates could well have been reached by Putin. There could have been a monetary deal made to ease sanctions on Russia. This remains to be seen but the evidence is mounting up. Too many in the government have had communications with Russians which they have tried to cover up. Trump and his minions have tried too hard to slow or stop the investigations for this to be nothing.

That Russia interfered in the US election by means of the internet is clear. You may choose Putin's word over the US and European intelligence community, but I do not.

This whole Putin thing is fascinating.

How an ex-KGB/Communist who crushes human rights and dissent has become a poster-boy for so many in the West is a triumph of shirtless horsey-riding propaganda pics.

^ Putin isn't a poster-boy and I think most people dont support the guy, but all the spin & chatter is literally validating the him and his actions. All the talk & blame is giving it credibility.

All the while he's over there giggling like a school girl at his successful trolling.

There is a well coordinated campaign orchestrated by Russia to spread pro Putin propaganda. Putin is the face of the world wide fascist anti democracy movement. Neo is a foot soldier. Ignore him.

Any proxy war with russia will do, the syria conflict would have been a prime example, paint russia as the bad guy, then destroy any semblance of stability in syria in order to 'stop' them.

the only fantasies are your bizarre accusations of other posters being russian trolls.

Two things: I literally think you overuse the phrase "literally" (and I'm not sure you actually know what it means); and your post is kinda actually confirmation of what I'm talking about, you say he isn't a poster-boy but then go on to credit him with awesome powers of trollage. And I don't see how talk and blame validates a despot.

I think the truth is a lot more prosaic. He's just a despot who is trying to crush dissent, consolidate his power, and extend his sphere of influence.

BTW, I did see Lindsey Graham say on a Sunday news show that the US was about to put more sanctions on Russia for hacking the elections.

Sanctions being diplomatic as opposed to a call to war.

I don't think Russia is taking over America. I think Russia is in the process of isolating the US from allies. This has nothing to do with conventional war and all to do with anti-American propaganda.
