I take it from this post you think free speech should be repressed at the will of the people, and your ok if it takes violence to repress it. Last I remember people in America are free to go and speak where they wish unless that speech insights violence.

    two things:

    1. milo is an epic troll funded by people who profit from social division. he is an asshole par excellence.

    2. the left is in this bubble of myopia and can't even see how hypocritical it is. this is the manifestation of snowflakes meets PC on steroids and on acid. it's almost as annoying as Milo & co.

so there you have it. Social Division in 2017. where it leads, no one can predict

No, he's just an annoying fag bubble and squeak.

I think most proper Trumpkins would smack him in the mouth as well.

    That would be enough.

Easy to see why libtards love Islam so much as they both want to ban free speech.

While I agree in principle, try bringing a "Free Palestine" speaker on to any US campus... And it is only a vociferous minority that oppose it. Usually a demonstration doesn't actually happen, because the Israel lobbies get busy and have the lecture cancelled before it can even take place.

rethuglicans...the opposite side of the coin when someone says libtards.

carrying guns around at teabag parties...rethuglicans sounds pretty spot on actually.

the fact is that most americans, when asked, favor policies that liberals advance. they just cant sell their ideas because theyre a bunch of fucking pussies.

OK, but is not the the same "liberal" institution that puts so much stock in protecting the rights of "minorities" and freedom of speech?

If your numbers are correct the 48 definitely quality as a minority . Do students that consider themselves Republican not quality for the same rights as the vast majority?

What could this huge liberal majority be so afraid of that violence and intimidation have to be used to prevent someone they don't like giving a presentation to the tiny Republican minority at their bastion of free speech and liberalism.?

What this event represents is a shocking example of liberal hypocrisy, double standards and outright intolerance. What else can it be?

^^ OMG did i just say "pussies?" in a derogatory way?

In no way do I condone the mistreatment of pussies. I am sorry if I offended any pussies and from now on, I'll use this teachable moment and move forward, inclusive to all people regardless of their pussy-orientation.

    False news.
However, the police have now disclosed information about the suspect. He is a fifty year old “Asian.” He told police he was attacked by “some type of white supremacist,” and was forced to shoot the man in self-defense.
The suspected shooter was released pending further investigations.

I thought a university was a place where people interested in learning would gather and listen to all sides and use a bit of critical thinking to test the voracity of the speakers argument. I didn't know guest speakers could only speak if they have the same world view as the "majority" of the students. I was taught to question everything including both left and right views. Hard to do if you only listen to one side. The cheese might've slid off of Milo Souvlakis' cracker but would it not be better to engage him and challenge his views with reason and logic? Sorry, my mistake, I thought university was meant to be a place one can practice freedom of speech not just a talk fest for the politically correct.

Oh sure, that's the idealistic view but Berkeley has always been a hotbed of left wing politics and you find some very committed people there.
All of this brings back the sixties for me when I was a student at the UW Madison, Wisconsin. It was the time of the war in Viet Nam and there were lots of protests about Dow Chemical, ROTC and the Cambodian incursion. People made their protests very visible so they registered on the collective American psyche. The involvement of student activists helped raise the consciousness of the country about the immorality of the war and helped bring it to an end. Universities can be a place for reason and logic but also activism.

Activism is one thing and I support peaceful activism but violence is quite another matter, where does it end or should it be encouraged by a lack of responsible reaction. When people are injured and property destroyed legal action needs take place.

protesting the war with some extremism is understandable.

going bonkers over a trollish speaker is The Snowflake Zone

just let him speak. hold a counter-speech and go point by point articulating why he's wrong.

if anything they're only going to highlight division by making him some kind of martyr. it's fucking ridiculous and the left is falling for the bait.

Yes, right or wrong but I'm sure many of them see this guy as a surrogate or symbol for Trump through his connection to Breitbart and Bannon.

Don't expect things to fall into neat little, expected boxes anymore. Trump has unleashed a new normal and more chaos is to be expected.

i wish the protesters would agree with that. if they did, they would get out and fucking organize for 2018 and 2020. this shit aint gonna stop until the right loses power. as it is, they control everything.

Patience. The left is struggling to get itself organized and find new leadership. Sanders will lead the way and hopefully younger but equally dynamic personalities will emerge. There is a lot of grass roots activity starting.

So seeing Milo as a surrogate for Trump is an excuse for violence to prevent free speech.i am sure civil discourse would be much more effective in achieving the desired results. How much of this type of action did you see from Trump's base during the campaign and he was elected. Do you not see this as alienating more people from the liberal movement. Sure those inclined to be attracted to this will get all excited and worked up but the average American I don't think so.

The problem its already like this and only going to get worse.

It took just eight days for Trump to get a majority of Americans disapproving of him
31 January 2017 • 10:19am In normal times, it takes American presidents hundreds of days before they reach a majority disapproval rating.
This has been the case for the last five presidents - with Bill Clinton being the previous record holder after taking 573 days to have more than 50 per cent of Americans disapprove of his presidency.
But Donald Trump, the billionaire businessman, TV star and now US president, has smashed this record after his victory on a wave of anti-establishment anger.
It has taken just eight days for him to gain a majority disapproval rating, according to Gallup polling, with 51 per cent of Americans saying they disapproved of the President on 28 January 2016.

Perhaps but most people will not be surprised by protests at the Berkeley campus of the UC. Provincial retards like yourself will no doubt view it as the start of a Communist revolution.
