The bailout was orchestrated under Bush not Obama. Does

It's a fact of American life that politicians need campaign money and spend most of their time trying to raise it. From your source:

    Dems: $14,305,651
    Repubs: $15,146,841

However, you cannot deny that the Democrats are the party that passed Dodd-Frank against Wall Street's wishes, and the Republicans gutted it.

The reason they gutted it? (Or rather one of them):

The Act established the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), which from inception to April 2017 had "returned almost $12 billion to 29 million consumers and imposed about $600 million in civil penalties."

That perfectly encapsulates why people don’t bother debating with you: you’re obsessed and disingenuous.

Pentagon denied White House request for troops to perform law enforcement services

Pentagon denied White House request for troops to perform law enforcement services at border: report

The Pentagon rejected a request from the White House last month to allow U.S. troops to perform emergency law enforcement tasks along the U.S.-Mexico border, CNN reported on Friday.

Two unnamed Defense Department officials familiar with the request told CNN that the White House requested a reserve force authorized to provide "crowd and traffic control" to areas along the border and to protect Border Patrol personnel ahead of the arrival of thousands of migrants preparing to apply for asylum in the U.S.

But on Oct. 26, the Pentagon rejected the request according to CNN, because the Defense Department felt that the tasks fell outside the scope of active duty soldiers' authority.

Officials at the White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill, while a Pentagon spokeswoman declined to comment on the issue when reached by email.

News of the White House's request comes despite assurances from defense officials that any troops deployed to the border would not come in to contact with a caravan of migrants currently headed to the U.S. southern border, and would only support local law enforcement personnel.

The Defense Department on Monday announced the deployment of more than 5,000 active-duty troops to the southern U.S. border, which joined nearly 2,100 National Guard troops already stationed at the border to assist Homeland Security personnel.

“By the end of this week will we deploy over 5,200 soldiers to the southwest border. That is just the start of this operation; we’ll continue to adjust the numbers and inform you of those,” a spokesman said.

President Trump said later in the week that he could deploy as many as 15,000 troops to the border in total, which would equal more total service members than the U.S. currently has stationed in Afghanistan.

"As far as the caravan is concerned, our military is out. We have about 5,000. We'll go up to anywhere between 10 and 15,000 military personnel on top of Border Patrol, [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] and everybody else at the border," he told reporters at the White House just two days after the announced deployment of 5,200 troops.

"Nobody is coming in. We're not allowing people to come in," he added.

Donald Trump's use of Game of Thrones meme to announce Iran sanctions rankles HBO

    President Donald Trump-10462874-1x1-940x940-jpg
HBO said it was not aware of Mr Trump's messaging.

When US President Donald Trump took the unusual step of using a Game-of-Thrones-inspired meme to announce the restoration of oil sanctions for Iran, HBO — which produces the TV series — was not amused.

The former reality show star tweeted a picture of himself with the words, "Sanctions are coming — November 5" written in text reminiscent of the Game of Thrones title font.

"Winter is coming" is a famous catchphrase from the popular drama series.

HBO responded with a tweet of its own: "How do you say trademark misuse in Dothraki?" referencing one of the languages in the show.

I thought the Trumptards said that when he got in he would start acting presidential.
All that unpresidential behaviour was just for the campaign.

Polishing Trump’s turds is a full time and constantly evolving position.

Just when you’ve gone and made an excuse for one lie or bit of abhorrent behavior he has already shat out another one.

    Just seen this:

Flint still doesn't have clean water, Puerto Rico didn't have power for a year, New Orleans was abandoned for five days... 15,000 troops can be sent to the border ASAP for a political photo op against an unarmed group of refugees who are two months away.

^ It is beyond appalling and what is even worse is that you have a ton of racist white geriatrics frothing at the mouth over a fake false flag nonissue like this caravan simply because their orange god and the right wing propaganda machine told them it was so.

He's what anyone with a bit of sense would see as reeking of desperation. Isn't Nov 5 the day before the election? I wonder if Congress has to approve the sanctions....

He's promised middle class tax breaks before the election...
He's said he could override the constitution with an executive order....
He's asked the US Army to enforce the law....
He's claimed America is being invaded...…..

He's saying literally ANYTHING that might mobilize his supporters, the truth be damned....
"I was a good student. I comprehend very well, OK, better than I think almost anybody," - President Trump comparing his legal knowledge to a Federal judge.

Well it seems the missus can't stop racking up the freebies either.

Her spokeswoman was apparently a bit miffed because it was reported that Melania ran up a bill of $95,000 - for a single overnight stay.

She called it "irresponsible reporting" .... because she was actually only there for six fucking hours!

This for a hotel whose rooms are $120 a night and the presidential suite is only $700. I wonder what she stuffed in her suitcases from the hotel shop?

The whole family are a bunch of fucking tealeaves innit.

What got me was that Trump's stay in Scotland for 2 DAYS was only 68K.

Exactly and it shows that the US is in a very dangerous place with regards to democracy. All the thinking people have left the GOP and it has been totally co-opted by fanatics who are simply enslaved by dogma and opportunists looking to line their pockets.

The mind boggles twofoldly; That the spokeswoman can be so utterly dumb to accentuate the exhorbidance, and that so much money can be spent in a hotel in only 6 hours.
Who owns the hotel? How much is a staff gigolo? How much room-service can a sole woman realistically use in 6 hours?

President Donald Trump’s steep tariffs on billions of dollars worth of Chinese products don’t seem to be particularly effective at re-balancing trade. America’s trade deficit with China hit a record high in September, according to figures reported Friday by the U.S. Commerce Department.

The deficit in goods and services trade with China increased to $40.2 billion for the month, the highest ever.

In addition, America’s overall foreign trade deficit in goods and services from all countries increased 1.3 percent from August to hit $54 billion for September — hitting a seven-month high. The deficit for
goods alone hit an all-time high at $218 billion, reported CNBC.

    Just can't stop lying.

Trump has claimed that negotiations with China to end the trade war between the two nations are going well. But National Economic Council director Larry Kudlow told CNBC on Friday that the Cabinet hasn’t even been asked to draw up a trade plan with China, contradicting Trump’s claim that he had made the request.

Imports of US soybeans dropped 80% from the previous year because of retaliatory tariffs applied by China. China was the biggest customer of US soybeans. A total disaster for US soybean farmers.

    Yup. So much winning.
