In my opinion no Democrats as a whole do not support open borders,however there seems to be a growing number of progressives who are definitely clamoring for open borders, the same group favoring automatic admission as well as legalizing all undocumented. Obviously anyone who has a legitimate reason for refugee status should be admitted, my question would be from where should they apply for this status and where should they be kept until the time they are properly vetted.

'Democrats' are about 1/2 the population of the USA ... there would be a broad spectrum of beliefs

it's never been under dispute. Illegals have been deported in increasing numbers for the past few pres. terms. Obama was a little more liberal in setting up DACA, no party or potus ever advocated open borders. It's just a rallying cry trump uses for his supporters.
