Perhaps it's time for the Brits to re-introduce imperial measurements, just to be absolutely certain they really are different from everyone else in Europe.

there was an association, back in the 50's at least = EFTA = european free trade association. nothing new on this planet efta = eu . same same but different.

As has continually been pointed out, UK/EU trade is in favour of the EU. Any barriers such as tariffs imposed by the EU would be reciprocated. The cliches of German cars and French wine/cheeses being suddenly withdrawn from the UK market would only result in the UK seeking other trading partners, with their ability to do that no longer constrained by the EU trading cartel. There would be pain on both sides, however I personally don't believe that anyone wants that, and a compromise will be achieved. Mutual market access will continue.

As the UK contributes more to the EU's budget than it receives, those other nations who do likewise will have to pick up the deficit. Of course, everyone will be looking towards Germany, which will not please them as they are already bankrolling the maintenance of the Euro and the financial rescue of Greece. The last thing that Germany will want to see is it's own industrial output and trade balance with the UK jeopardised by petty and churlish stances from the other members.

If the EU leadership had any balls they could avoid the coming EU implosion by re-engineering the institution back to a free trade organization, which is what most countries actually want.
Sadly Turkey's don't vote for christmas

Your comment is disgraceful. She was murdered by a nutcase and the referendum played absolutely no part in her death.

I see Farage and Brexit campaigners have backtracked on the 350mn/week already.

Lots of back slapping amongst the far right in Europe.

Hope everyone knows what they wished for.....

Just watched a press conference with the EU president Juncker, looked like he had just taken a bite out of a shit sandwich or a good rogering by a ladyboy before he spoke.

How do you know? Regardless, Farages comment was clearly tasteless, insensitive, and inaccurate.

For all the back slapping, it's not done yet, Cameron going could well be the first step to calling an election, voiding the referendum results.

Heads my roll, but these people want their decisions followed not the peoples .

Prime Minister David Cameron is to step down by October after the UK voted to leave the European Union.
Speaking outside 10 Downing Street, he said he would attempt to "steady the ship" over the coming weeks and months but that "fresh leadership" was needed.
The PM had urged the country to vote Remain but was defeated by 52% to 48% despite London, Scotland and Northern Ireland backing staying in.

The referendum cannot be voided as a result of a General Election. Any elected government would be bound by the result of the referendum.

Me now, I'll wait for the courts. That's because I believe more in law and justice than vigilantism and putting the boot into darkies. Each to his own, I guess.

Seriously? That is so naive as to be almost criminally stupid. BTW have you noticed Two-Gun Farages immediate U-Turn on the 350m for the NHS? As an intellectual follower of the news how the feel about having been lied to?

God ! You don't half talk some rubbish, don't you ? Please try to restrict yourself to relevant facts when addressing a particular issue. The slogan on the "battle bus" is of no relevance whatever to this woman's murder. Are you intoxicated ? I hope so.
