Or one of those pits with leaves over them like they should have dug in the foyer of the Mandalay Bay hotel.

Stop calling them needles. They're darts.
I keep picturing an emptied pen ink tube and mum's sewing needles with a small twist of cotton wool wound round the eye. Fine for shooting flies on the window sill, but I don't think the range or power is good enough for mass murder.
They're at it in Texas again.
Wonder what will run out first victims or ammunition, as there are profit to be made selling arms perhaps obvious.
Only country outside of the norm, I've met plenty of sane Americans and many of them prefer to live in Asia Australia or Europe.
perhaps it isn't a gun issue it is a human development issue
What complete idiot moved this into the Lounge FFS?
The same idiot that will no doubt move it the Doghouse next
I'm hunkering down. Got baskets and cases. Love you man.
Re the church shooting and the civvie with a rifle that's being hailed a hero for preventing further deaths...I would agree he prevented further deaths IF he had shot the perp while the perp was on his spree... but he didn't. The perp had finished in the church and was attempting to leave. The hero then commandeered a vehicle (sort of) and pursued the perp. That's not self defense.
Texas church shooting: Hero locals' desperate pursuit of gunman - NZ Herald
Is that why the civvie with the rifle is still not being named?
Um, what?
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...hurch-shootingMan who opened fire on Texas church shooter hailed as 'good Samaritan'
Stephen Willeford says he ran barefoot across street to find gunman before jumping into another man’s car and giving chase
this is interesting. It shows a direct correlation between the number of mass shootings and the number of guns held

Guess which 'dot' represents the US?
Number of mass shooters on the 'y' axis.
Number of guns in millions on the 'x' axis.
Number of blowdarts 'unknown'

Um, ok. First time I've seen a name. Even the car driver kept pointedly say "the gentleman". Never mind, he's been named.
Back to my point; Guns are legal, ostensibly to keep a rogue government in check, and also for self defense. But is shooting and chasing a murderer after he's killed legal? I think not and I think there is precedent to show this.
By all accounts Willeford shot the Bible studies teacher as he left the church. Willeford did not witness who did the shooting inside the church, just heard the shots and saw a man leaving. Shot him, then pursued him till the fleeing guy crashed.
I'd say that is murder. Not a regrettable murder (as it turned out!), but murder nonetheless.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out with regard to the gun lobby (and Trump) arguments.
If I was a US citizen and anti-gun person, I'd be urging the authorities to look into how Willeford caused the death of a fellow citizen. Make the argument, because it's got potential for lots of controversy. Particularly since Willeford is a card carrying NRA member.
In this day an age with all sorts of guns, high powered weapons sold openly in the streets, and loads of weirdos owning guns, I'd feel safe at home with my gun. Its the only way to live when the world out there is a cold hard bitch.

I am so unlucky that if I fall into a barrel full of D*ick**s, I'd come out sucking my own thumb!
The world? Hardly, just sounds like you need to move to a less cold hard bitchy place.

*cough*...such negativity...do you want to live forever?...
In the end we all die, but if I have a choice I'd choose my life over a psychopath, and if it means pulling the trigger, I would do it. I'm not gonna stand there waving a frying pan and let myself be slaughtered like a pig.

Where I am located, guns are a necessity. The police is an hour's ride away. If bad elements attack us from the beach.... well, good luck in calling the police.
There are areas in Mindanao where civilians are handed guns/rifles by the military for protection. They carry those even while ploughing the fields.
Its easy to judge this and that when one is not exposed to extreme threat or grave danger on a daily basis, but out here things are a little different.
