For Obama to sit there and claim that there was not even a smidgeon of corruption involved is ridiculous. Of course there was bias and improper actions taken as a result of decisions taken much higher up the chain of command than a few convenient grunts in an Ohio office. We now have all this re-labelled as "bone headed decisions" Well, no shit.

The term corruption is a bit over used these days, but if you choose to call it blatant political bias or any other suitable label, then by all means do so....It's all the same in the end. All parties and all President's hold political bias, so in that regard Obama and his team are no more guilty than the rest.....what is different is how the hero worshipping liberal groupies are so unwilling to acknowledge any cock-up or any wrong doing of any kind where Obama and his minions are concerned, but are quite willing to blame the previous president, or anybody except the present administration, for everything.

Naturally, there are a whole system of "buffers" in place to protect the high command....that's normal. Even the Mafia use this method to keep the Capo's out of jail. I give Obama full credit for his buffers......

Hasn't gone away boys & girl:

Bombshell Report: IRS Targeted “Icky” Conservative Groups.

Top IRS officials specifically targeted tea party groups and misled the public about its secret political targeting program led by ex-official Lois Lerner, according to a bombshell new congressional report.

The Daily Caller has obtained an advance copy of a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee report set to be released Tuesday morning that definitively proves malicious intent by the IRS to improperly block conservative groups that an IRS adviser deemed “icky.” (That’s right. “Icky.”)

“The Committee has identified eight senior leaders who were in a position to prevent or to stop the IRS’s targeting of conservative applicants,” the Oversight report states. “Each of these leaders could have and should have done more to prevent the IRS’s targeting of conservative tax-exempt applicants.”

Let's see know, we're up to day 582. Heh, loved it when Lois (shred those emails!) Lerner was trying to flee into her neighbor's house to get away from the reporters and the neighbor told her to fuck off

That's funny, Issa releases the report of his witch hunt and lo and behold guess why you're not hearing about it on Fox News and AM radio. Go on, guess: Probe fails to link IRS scandal to White House

FTFA:IRS agents were reviewing tea party groups' applications to determine the amount of political activity the groups were engaged in. Under IRS rules, groups applying for tax-exempt status under section 501(c)4 of the tax code can engage in politics but it cannot be their primary mission.

Just as they targeted "liberal" groups. They targeted anyone who was blatantly flaunting the fact that their "non-partisan social welfare charity" was actually a partisan political group. And they still approved them anyway. THAT should be the controversy.

    Oh well, back to Benghazi!

    CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
After Investigators Find 32,744 “Lost” IRS Emails

GASPS As IRS Commissioner Admits Missing Lois Lerner Hard Drive Was Melted Down

The IRS Conservative Targeting Scandal included:

Hundreds of conservative groups were targeted
    At least 5 pro-Israel groups
    Constitutional groups
    Groups that criticized Obama administration
    At least two pro-life groups
An 83 year-old Nazi concentration camp survivor
    A 180 year-old Baptist paper
    A Texas voting-rights group
A Hollywood conservative group was targeted and harassed
    Conservative activists and businesses
At least one conservative Hispanic group
IRS continued to target groups even after the scandal was exposed
10% of Tea Party donors were audited by the IRS
And… 100% of the 501(c)(4) Groups Audited by IRS Were Conservative
IRS Commissioner John Koskinen refused to apologize after he admitted the agency had lost all of Lois Lerner’s emails and had trashed her hard drive.

    But they weren’t lost…
The IRS’s inspector general has launched a criminal investigation after 32,744 lost emails were recovered by congressional investigators.
    The Washington Times reported:

The IRS’s inspector general confirmed Thursday it is conducting a criminal investigation into how Lois G. Lerner’s emails disappeared, saying it took only two weeks for investigators to find hundreds of tapes the agency’s chief had told Congress were irretrievably destroyed.

Investigators have already scoured 744 backup tapes and gleaned 32,774 unique emails, but just two weeks ago they found an additional 424 tapes that could contain even more Lerner emails, Deputy Inspector General Timothy P. Camus told the House Oversight Committee in a rare late-night hearing meant to look into the status of the investigation.

“There is potential criminal activity,” Mr. Camus said.

He said they have also discovered the hard drives from the IRS’s email servers, but said because the drives are out of synch it’s not clear whether they will be able to recover anything from them.

“To date we have found 32,744 unique emails that were backed up from Lois Lerner’s email box. We are in the process of comparing these emails to what the IRS has already produced to Congress to determine if we did in fact recover any new emails,” Mr. Camus said.

According to Camus, the IRS’s technology specialists told investigators that no one from the agency asked for the tapes.

    IRS Scandal Update:

Tea party groups win Round 1 in court as federal judge demands IRS’s list of all 298 conservative nonprofits it targeted. “The decision from U.S. District Judge Susan Dlott means right-wing groups are a step closer to being allowed to pursue a class-action lawsuit against the IRS. The agency has admitted playing political favorites with the tax code beginning in 2010, when it began applying extra scrutiny to groups with red-flag words like ‘patriots’ or ‘tea party’ in their names. While those organizations’ applications were held up for years, liberal groups sailed through the process.”

Thousands Of New Lois Lerner Emails Found

An inspector general investigating the IRS’s improper scrutiny of Tea Party groups has found thousands of emails from Lois Lerner, the agency official at the center of that controversy, according to committees involved in the probe.

Treasury’s inspector general for tax administration (TIGTA) said it found roughly 6,400 emails either to or from Lerner from between 2004 and 2013 that it didn’t think the IRS had turned over to lawmakers, the congressional committees said. The committees have yet to examine the emails, aides on Capitol Hill said.

The IRS said last year that Lerner’s computer crashed in 2011, leaving it unable to reproduce an untold number of her emails over the prior two years.

Of the emails the inspector general found, around 650 were from 2010 and 2011, while most were from 2012. The inspector general found about 35,000 emails in all as it sought to recover emails from recycled back-up tapes."

Heh... Lois Lerner's Hard Drive Crash Was Most Likely Caused by an Impact of Some Sort.

Inspector General: The Tapes Were Deleted Due to an "Unbelievable" Series of Coincidences, Not Intent

    https://oversight.house.gov/wp-conte...-Testimony.pdf

Right...they're just destroying evidence in blatant fashion now, and daring you to do anything about it.

"Our investigation determined that on Saturday, June 11, 2011, between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm, Ms. Lerner’s IRS issued laptop computer stopped communicating with the IRS server system. The IRS server system sends messages out to all of the network-connected computers every two hours. The last communication between Ms. Lerner’s laptop and the server system occurred around 5:00 pm, and at that time, based on consistent network reporting for more than a week, the laptop computer was likely located in Ms. Lerner’s office. The laptop failed to respond to the server at 7:00 pm.

On Monday, June 13, 2011, Ms. Lerner reported that she found her computer inoperable when she entered her office, and the malfunction was reported to the IRS Information Technology (IT) staff. The assigned IT specialist determined the hard drive had crashed, and following standard protocol, he placed a new hard drive in Ms. Lerner’s laptop. In addition to the hard drive, a Hewlett Packard (HP) contractor replaced the laptop’s keyboard, track pad, heat sink, and fan. When interviewed, both the IRS IT technician and the HP technician reported that they did not note any visible damage to the laptop computer itself. When asked about the possible cause of the hard drive failure, the HP technician opined that heat-related failures are not seen often, and based on the information provided to him, the hard drive more than likely crashed due to an impact of some sort. However, because the HP technician did not examine the hard drive as part of his work on the laptop, it could not be determined why it crashed.

On July 19, 2011, Ms. Lerner requested IRS IT to attempt to recover data from her crashed hard drive because, according to her, she had “personal information” on the drive. The IRS IT management agreed and requested assistance from the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division (IRS-CI). After receiving the hard drive from the IT technician, the IRS-CI technician attempted, but was unsuccessful in recovering data, so he returned the hard drive to the IT depot at the IRS headquarters building for its ultimate destruction. According to the IRS-CI technician, he noted some scoring on the top platter of the drive, and he believed there were additional steps that could have been taken to attempt to recover data.

Oh, and then they deleted the back-up tapes -- which by law they're supposed to keep. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-0...after-subpoena

As AP reports, according to the IG's deputy Timothy Camus, two "lower-graded" employees at the IRS center in Martinsburg, West Virginia, erased 422 computer backup tapes that contained as many as 24,000 emails to and from former IRS official Lois Lerner.
It gets better: the tapes were erased in March 2014, months after congressional investigators requested all of Lerner's emails, and months after Zero Hedge, among many others, said to simply track down the server backups.

And the punchline: according to George, who before "investigating" IRS crimes, was a page for the 1980 Democratic National Convention and a founder of the Howard University College Democrats, the workers might be incompetent, a lead investigator said Thursday, but there is no evidence they were part of a criminal conspiracy to destroy evidence.

Don't worry, though. The IG has cleared the IRS -- see, it was all just an "unbelievable series of coincidences." http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...R5z9fE.twitter

The IRS erased backup takes with Lois G. Lerner's emails even after the messages were subject to a congressional subpoena, but it was an "unbelievable" chain of coincidences rather than a malicious intent to subvert Congress, the tax agency’s inspector general said Thursday.
As many as 24,000 emails may have been permanently lost, but the inspector general has managed to recover about 1,000 messages from the tapes because the IRS only "degaussed" the tapes but didn't destroy them.

Still, the move to erase the tapes after they had been requested by Congress didn’t sit well with Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz, who accused IRS chief John Koskinen of obstructing Congress‘ investigation into the emails and tea party targeting.

"They destroyed evidence. That’s what they did," Mr. Chaffetz, Utah Republican, said.

He wondered whether it was a “coincidence” the erasure came just a month after President Obama dismissed the tea party-targeting scandal as a nonissue.

Should IRS commissioner John Koskinen be impeached?
    Never autoplay videos
House Republicans are considering launching impeachment proceedings against IRS Commissioner John Koskinen or other agency officials in connection with the destruction of emails potentially tied to the scandal over Tea Party targeting.

National Review first reported that Republicans are looking at the possibility. A House oversight committee aide confirmed to FoxNews.com that the panel, led by Chairman Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, indeed is "looking into it."

"We haven't come to any conclusions," the source said.

Speaking with Fox News on Friday, oversight committee member Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, also appeared to acknowledge the discussions. Asked why lawmakers might consider impeachment articles, Jordan cited Koskinen's questionable committee testimony.

"Every time Mr. Koskinen comes and testifies, we subsequently learn that something he said wasn't quite accurate," Jordan told Fox News.

He did not elaborate on the impeachment option. But the development comes as Republicans, including Jordan, fume over the revelation that 422 backup tapes were destroyed shortly after officials discovered emails related to the Tea Party scandal had been lost.

    More on this...

House GOP consider impeaching IRS Commissioner Koskinen
    J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration, revealed Thursday that up to 24,000 emails may never be recovered because the tapes were "magnetically erased" in March 2014. George said those tapes "likely contained" 2010 and 2011 emails to and from former IRS official Lois Lerner, a central figure in the controversy over conservative groups targeted for additional scrutiny as they sought nonprofit status.

George said his office found no direct evidence the tapes were destroyed to hide information from Congress or law enforcement. But the destruction nevertheless defied a preservation order -- and Republicans complained that despite the destruction, Koskinen testified to Congress three weeks later that they would provide documents to Congress.

"Three weeks before he said that ... they'd already destroyed 422 tapes," Jordan said Friday. "Those kind of actions are, I think, something that we have to look into very seriously, and that's what the committee's doing."

FoxNews.com has reached out to the IRS for comment.

Koskinen has served as commissioner since late 2013. He previously served in top positions at Freddie Mac and a range of private companies, and worked at one point in the White House Office of Management and Budget.

Pursuing impeachment proceedings would be a step beyond contempt charges, which is the tool House Republicans tried to use against both Lerner and former Attorney General Eric Holder in past disputes.

While impeachment is often thought of as a congressional weapon reserved for presidents, it can apply to "all civil officers of the United States," on the grounds of treason, bribery or other "high crimes and misdemeanors."

National Review reported that Republicans are considering whether to base a case on alleged misdemeanors.

One unnamed member of the House oversight panel told National Review that while some are "open to it," others may argue "that's not how we do things, it's not really been used lately.'"

There was one case, more than a century ago, when articles of impeachment were brought against War Secretary William Belknap -- in 1876.

    He resigned amid the proceedings.

Just like Benghazie more information keeps leaking out. Dig it:

Judicial Watch: New Documents Reveal DOJ, IRS, and FBI Plan to Seek Criminal Charges of Obama Opponents

Documents released today by Judicial Watch show the Department of Justice colluding with the Internal Revenue Service to cook up criminal prosecutions of targeted non-profit conservative groups.

The newly obtained records include an official “DOJ Recap” report detailing an October 2010 meeting between Lois Lerner, DOJ officials and the FBI. The documents also reveal that the Obama DOJ wanted IRS employees who were going to testify to Congress to turn over documents to the DOJ before giving them to Congress.

Records also detail how the Obama IRS gave the FBI 21 computer disks, containing 1.25 million pages of confidential IRS returns from 113,000 nonprofit social 501(c)(4) welfare groups – or nearly every 501(c)(4) in the United States – as part of its prosecution effort. According to a letter from then-House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) to IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, “This revelation likely means that the IRS – including possibly Lois Lerner – violated federal tax law by transmitting this information to the Justice Department.”

The documents were produced subsequent to court orders in two Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuits: Judicial Watch v. Internal Revenue Service (No. 1:14-cv-1956) and Judicial Watch v. Department of Justice (No. 1:14-cv-1239).

“These new documents show that the Obama IRS scandal is also an Obama DOJ and FBI scandal,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “The FBI and Justice Department worked with Lois Lerner and the IRS to concoct some reason to put President Obama’s opponents in jail before his reelection. And this abuse resulted in the FBI’s illegally obtaining confidential taxpayer information. How can the Justice Department and FBI investigate the very scandal in which they are implicated?”

In January of 2014, Senator Ted Cruz sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder asking for the Justice Department to appoint a special prosecutor to look into actions by the tax-collecting agency."

Docs Reveal IRS Plan to Seek Criminal Charges of Obama Opponents

It's not as if we didn't already know that Obama et. al. were attempting to smear or downright perform criminal acts against their political opponents now did we? Tricky Dick iis rolling over in his grave.

IRS Fails To Meet Deadline To Produce Lois Lerner’s Emails

    Imagine that!

Emmet G. Sullivan, United States District Judge for the District of Columbia, ordered the IRS last week to begin producing, every Monday, nearly 1,800 newly recovered Lois Lerner emails. On Monday, the IRS defied the order.

The developments come in the wake of Judicial Watch’s FOIA lawsuit seeking documents about the Obama IRS’ targeting and harassment of conservative non profits (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. Internal Revenue Service

Thanks to Judicial Watch’s litigation, the IRS was forced to admit that Lerner’s emails were supposedly missing and, then, that the emails were on IRS back-up systems.

Judge Sullivan ruled on the matter on July 1, 2015, and on Monday July 6, 2015 the IRS failed to produce a single email."

And you thought it went away did you? Well, guess what? Can't sweep all these Obama Scandals under the rug - too many:

IRS gets lashing from judge for refusing to release Lerner emails, other documents

A federal judge Wednesday rebuked the Obama administration’s IRS for refusing to divulge documents, including Lois G. Lerner’s emails, and warned that he would hold in contempt those who break his orders.

Judge Emmet G. Sullivan called the administration’s defense “nonsensical” and said the IRS must release documents every Monday to Judicial Watch, a conservative public interest law firm that requested the documents under open records laws and then sued after the IRS didn’t comply.

“Officers of the court who fail to comply with court orders will be held in contempt,” Judge Sullivan said in a published order."
