    IRS Scandal Update

Investor’s Business Daily: Ben Carson’s IRS Audit Can’t Possibly Be Coincidence.
This is not a coincidence, any more than awakening with a severed horse’s head in your bed after being made “an offer you can’t refuse” is.

Someone — either within the IRS bureaucracy or above it — saw what Carson did, didn’t like it, and decided to make him pay. The American people must know who it was.

And there are two other crucial points to the victimization of this man who personifies the American Dream.

First, when a government is as big as ours has become, outrageous abuse from the soldiers of its financing machinery is inevitable, especially within a governmental climate that encourages it.

Second, there is no excuse for a president who’s been in office for more than four years failing to ensure that such outrages couldn’t happen.

Whether or not Obama instigated IRS abuse for political objectives, he is responsible for a culture within the bureaucracy that tolerated and even encouraged it.

And the poster TonyBKK had the temerity yesterday to say these IRS Scandals are non-scandals!

Obama Fan Boys will always be Obama Fan Boys we guess...

Yawn, this Rethuglican-created faux scandal is long dead Boontard. How long are you going to keep beating a dead horse?

Are you going to bump all the other faux scandal threads you started too? Umbrella-gate was one of my personal favorites

How The IRS Scandal(s) Coverup Is Working

"Darrell Issa, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, says he is confident the story behind the IRS’s targeting of tea-party and conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status will eventually come out. But patience will have to be a virtue. Issa’s staff acknowledged late last month that the IRS had handed over to the committee a little more than 10 percent of the documents the IRS itself has admitted are relevant to the committee’s investigation."

Yep, it won't go ways just 'cause Obama Fan boys & Fan girls want it to. 90% more damning documents to be scrutinized!

Number of conservation applications flagged 292, 0 rejected 0approved.
These were 501(c)4 social welfare organization applications.

Number of liberal applications flagged 19, 6 rejected 13 approved. These were 501(c)3 charitable organization applications.

What's important here is the liberal organizations knew where they stood. Those rejected where able to reapply for status. The conservative groups on the other hand where left in limbo unable to organize and participate in 2 election cycles. It's not a coincidence that the applicaptions were held up to prevent participating in the democratic process.

^ Easy solution here is to just outlaw these types of organizations all together. Somehow I don't think your handlers would be ok with that. Since Karl Rove and the Koch brothers pour tens of millions of dollars more into these deceptive groups then those on the left do.

now that benghazi has blown up their faces (again), the usual suspect(s) have switched back to this phoney scandal.

    sadly unsurprising.

Doesn't matter how many times Boontard bumps the thread, it's still bullshit.

Dan Pfeiffer: IRS Scandal Allegations Were 'Completely False'

WASHINGTON -- In sharp and explicit terms, a top White House official on Wednesday downplayed the controversy surrounding the IRS' screening of tea party groups, saying it had been drummed up by Republicans to falsely imply presidential involvement.
Speaking at a breakfast organized by the Christian Science Monitor, senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer didn't go so far as to call investigations into the IRS' activity illegitimate, and he said any whiffs of wrongdoing should be "looked at" and addressed. But accusations that the administration had played a role in -- or was at fault for -- the agency's conduct were "completely false."
"The allegation was, by many Republicans, that the White House was directing the IRS to target Tea Party groups," he said. "That was the allegation. And that has turned out to be completely false. There is no evidence to suggest that. And now it has turned out that the IRS was not just targeting conservative groups but also looking at a large number of progressive groups as well. So that changes the dynamic of what it was."
Pfeiffer specifically called out House Oversight Committee Chair Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) and other congressional Republicans for repeatedly trying to tie the White House to the scandal.
"I'd say that on all of the issues that you are talking about [IRS, Benghazi, NSA surveillance], there are legitimate questions to be looked at to be sure if things happened the wrong way, that they should be addressed. That is different then trying to turn them, to try to use them to score political points, which Congressman Issa and the Republican Senate have been very clear that that's what they are trying to do," Pfeiffer said. "All of these allegations about White House involvement, that the White House was involved, that Washington was involved, all of these things, as the facts have come out, have not been as such."

    IRS Harassing Sarah Palin's Father

    Just another coincidence, right?

Sarah Palin’s brother, Chuck Heath Jr., posted this note on Facebook on January 11:

    Coincidence? You decide.

"My father, who worked multiple jobs and faithfully and honestly paid his taxes for fifty years, had never heard a word from the IRS. In 2008, his daughter was tapped to run for vice president of the United States. Since that time, he has been, in his words “horribly harassed” six times by the agency. They’ve tried to dig up something on him but he’s always operated above board."

Doesn't get any more stark than this

Conservative Group of Actors Being Harassed by the IRS

Sixty years after the age of McCarthyism the left still obsesses over it. But they haven’t said a peep about a small group of conservatives being harassed by the IRS.
In a famously left-leaning Hollywood, where Democratic fund-raisers fill the social calendar, Friends of Abe stands out as a conservative group that bucks the prevailing political winds.

A collection of perhaps 1,500 right-leaning players in the entertainment industry, Friends of Abe keeps a low profile and fiercely protects its membership list, to avoid what it presumes would result in a sort of 21st-century blacklist, albeit on the other side of the partisan spectrum.

Now the Internal Revenue Service is reviewing the group’s activities in connection with its application for tax-exempt status. Last week, federal tax authorities presented the group with a 10-point request for detailed information about its meetings with politicians like Paul D. Ryan, Thaddeus McCotter and Herman Cain, among other matters, according to people briefed on the inquiry.

The people spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the organization’s confidentiality strictures, and to avoid complicating discussions with the I.R.S.

Those people said that the application had been under review for roughly two years, and had at one point included a demand — which was not met — for enhanced access to the group’s security-protected website, which would have revealed member names. Tax experts said that an organization’s membership list is information that would not typically be required. The I.R.S. already had access to the site’s basic levels, a request it considers routine for applications for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.

Friends of Abe — the name refers to Abraham Lincoln — has strongly discouraged the naming of its members. That policy even prohibits the use of cameras at group events, to avoid the unwilling identification of all but a few associates — the actors Gary Sinise, Jon Voight and Kelsey Grammer, or the writer-producer Lionel Chetwynd, for instance — who have spoken openly about their conservative political views.

Yes, their job is to make sure rich conservatives don't buy political influence at the taxpayer's expense.

House Ways & Means Chairman Dave Camp Trying To Stop the IRS New Rules That Target Conservatives.
The Obama Administration might be trying to sweep the IRS controversy under the rug, but House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rep. Dave Camp (MI) isn’t letting up on stopping the agency from targeting conservative groups.

In a letter to Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew and IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, Camp has requested all the documents which pertain to section 504(c)(4) of the tax code. This specific section has been used as a fundraising vehicle for grassroots conservative political action committees.

Under proposed regulations, these groups cannot engage in voter registration drives or get-out-the-vote efforts without risking their tax-exempt status.

Camp is seeking to challenge these rulings, especially as the IRS allows liberal groups – like labor unions – to use these exact same methods to advance their own political causes.
    In a statement, Camp said:

Before having all the facts in hand, Treasury rushed forward with new rules that seriously limit groups’ ability to engage in public debate. It is clear that the Obama Administration is still targeting conservative groups and wrote these rules to put them out of business. This is pure politics and the new IRS commissioner should do the right thing and put a stop to it.

According to Bloomberg, House Republicans will be able to question the incoming IRS commissioner at a hearing scheduled for February 5th.
