The internet has given rise to a new kind of ignorance. Rumour, conspiracy, falsehoods are presented as fact. The most logical explanations are tossed aside in favor of subjective opinions and cherry picked information linked together in elaborate fallacies. Younger people with little or no first hand knowledge choose to believe false histories because they are presented convincingly and emotionally. It's a sad fact that the world has been significantly dumbed down by the internet.

There's all kinds of crazy stuff floating around, but i don't think it's dumbing people down, control of the narrative is lost. It's a power struggle, and always has been.
