Does it really matter? No.
The only reason this is an issue is that the GOP think they could have spun it to win the last election, and they're dead upset about it.
You can try using it again in three and a bit years time, but I think people will think you are a bunch of pathetic whingers for doing so (Mind you, a lot of people think that now ).
Poor Booners, he's been hoping and dreaming of a scandal that will tarnish the Obama administration for years and keeps coming up empty.

^now you're just repeating yourself, see post #896. Getting forgetful? Lost your marbles? Jeez man get a grip.
It seems you chose to ignore the report that shows the Republicans doctored emails in an attempt to create another false scandal so I thought I'd re-post it for you.
Why do you keep looking for a scandal where none exists?
Typical GOP overreach.
To their surprise, the White House took Republicans up on their demand to make the entire email chain public, which exposed to the press and public that the Republicans had doctored the emails. Ooops!
The email at the core of the Republican case that the White House “fixed” the Benghazi talking points, in the immediate aftermath of the attack on our consulate, in order to edit out any reference to “terrorism,” in a supposed effort to minimize public concern about the attack in the weeks before the 2012 election, is a fake.
This has always been the Republican Party's biggest risk with their constant scandal mongering: they don't know when to quit. On Benghazi, when it became obvious that they didn't have a smoking gun, they got desperate and tried to invent one.
How about another?

Darrell Issa Subpoenas Benghazi Documents
The State Department has been subpoenaed to produce all documents related to Benghazi to and from 10 current and former employees, Rep. Darrell Issa announced Tuesday.
Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said the subpoena is necessary because the State Department has refused multiple requests to provide the communications and documents on a voluntary basis.
"The State Department has not lived up to the administration’s broad and unambiguous promises of cooperation with Congress. Therefore, I am left with no alternative but to compel the State Department to produce relevant documents through a subpoena," Issa said in a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry"
Those Darn 'OL Republicans. Can't They Just Leave The Messiah & Clinton Alone!

While the White House has probably decided to just ignore the desperate GOP scandal-mongering, I for one would like to see an investigation into the fake emails that the GOP released to create the scandal in the first place.
Glad you're easily amused as Benghazi-Gate keeps rolling along
Perhaps in you liberal bed-wetters dreams it gone away. But, we got more subpoenas/hearings coming up. Don't sound like it's going away any time soon no matter how much you try to wish it away, eh?
Who Gave The Order To Stand Down
Benghazi-Gate?
Is that what we're calling it now?
Sorry, it's old news. Please try to keep up.
Today's scandal is Monroe-gate and surely will the final nail in President Obama's coffin that Trailer Trash Booners has been dreaming about all these years.
He doesn't know how to do that. All he knows is insults, representations, and stupidity.Originally Posted by Boon Mee

I wonder if those Americans would still be alive if the GOP hadn't cut embassy security funding...
The truth about the Benghazi Witch Hunt-
The Washington Post's Eugene Robinson writes about the Republican obsession with Benghazi and its "witch hunt" attempt to smear Hillary Clinton:
The only coherent purpose I can discern in all of this is to sully Clinton’s record as secretary of state in case she runs for president in 2016. [...] Did Clinton’s State Department fail to provide adequate security for the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi? In retrospect, obviously so. But the three diplomats who testified at the hearing gave no evidence that this failure sprang from anything other than the need to use limited resources as efficiently as possible.
House Republicans who voted to cut funding for State Department security should understand that their philosophy — small government is always better — has consequences. Bureaucrats have to make judgment calls. Sometimes they will be wrong.
House investigator subpoenas all communications on Benghazi ‘talking points
"House Republicans’ chief investigator issued a subpoena Tuesday for State Department documents that he said would shed light on how the administration wrote the “talking points” that were used to give a wrong impression of the September terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya. Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell E. Issa told Secretary of State John F. Kerry to provide all communications regarding the talking points from 10 department officials, including Victoria Nuland, who was chief spokeswoman at the time, and Deputy Secretary William Burns."
But, But, Harry Barracuda (card-carying member of the TDMA) Told Us Just Yesterday That 'It's All Over'
More subpoenas and hearings will put more 'there' where there was none.
Benghazi was a tragedy and because of it a light should be shone on what more can be done to protect those who serve America overseas.
The GOP's decision to cut security funding is certainly part of the problem.
What our country does not deserve is a political show trial designed to vilify Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama. What we don't need is a crass partisan effort to influence the 2016 presidential campaign.
Unlike the 1980s Iran-Contra scandal, there are no questions of illegal acts, no secret funds, no shredding of documents and no efforts to directly circumvent a law passed by Congress. People may forget that 14 administration officials were indicted and 11 convicted as a result of the arms-for-hostages scandal.
Instead, what we have after eight months of investigation, 11 congressional hearings before five committees, 20 staff briefings and 25,000 pages of documents is exactly what we started with: a tragic situation with lessons to be learned, but not a grand conspiracy.
It is inexcusable that Rep. Darrell Issa has decided not to conduct a series of hearings to help solve the problems that our diplomats face every day but rather to engage in a partisan, political witch hunt for a conspiracy and cover-up that doesn't exist.
Rep. Darrell Issa must be ruing his bad luck. The hearing he carefully orchestrated to pick at the scab of Benghazi was stepped on by the verdict in the Jodi Arias murder trial and by the story of three women held captive and brutalized for a decade in Cleveland. He was out-sensationalized and out-tawdried this week despite his own best efforts and those of his committee colleagues and staff members. [...] Nothing spoken of in the hearing suggested a cover-up by a Cabinet secretary, who instantly took personal responsibility for the attacks and swiftly appointed an independent commission led by two of the most distinguished, nonpartisan career civil servants in recent American history to investigate them. To say otherwise is more than a reach. It's an effort by the Republican Party to damage the person most likely to be the next Democratic presidential candidate.

Of course, like every other Republican created conspiracy, "Benghazi-gate" is another non-event.
