Looks like Obama is sitting pretty against these top two GOP contenders.

“Now, here’s the sad thing. Lately, we have heard a lot of professional politicians, a lot of the folks who were running for a certain office, who shall go unnamed, they’ve been talking down new sources of energy. They dismiss wind power. They dismiss solar power. They make jokes about biofuels. They were against raising fuel standards. I guess they like gas guzzlers. They think that’s good for our future. We’re trying to move towards the future. They want to be stuck in the past!” Obama exclaimed to cheers from the crowd. “If some of these folks were around when Columbus set sail, they probably must have been founding members of the flat earth society. They would not believe that the world was round!” : http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/03/1...earth-society/

March 15, 2012. President Obama speaks about an all-of-the-above strategy for the 21st century that develops every source of American-made energy -- not just oil and gas, but wind power and solar power and biofuels -- while building more fuel-efficient cars and trucks that get more miles to the gallon and investing in other technologies that help us use less energy altogether.

I'll green yer for that. Even though you don't deserve it.

Someone should run a Poll of Pew vs Rasmussen Polls.

Remember how far we've come. From Academy Award-winning director Davis Guggenheim: "The Road We've Traveled".

This film gives an inside look at some of the tough calls President Obama made to get our country back on track. Featuring interviews from President Bill Clinton, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Elizabeth Warren, David Axelrod, Austan Goolsbee, and more. It's a film everyone should see.

It's election year booner, waddya expect?

Actually I think it's a fair assertion, that BO stepped into the most demanding presidential term since FDR. Still, he gets a mediocre pass mark from me- mainly HC reform lifting it from a borderline fail.

His best ally is the good ole' GOP Punch & Judy show. Looks a shoe-in for a second term from where I sit.

Obama's done nothing but dine off the implied race card played by the showbiz sector, portraying him like some kind of Mandela Jr..
I said it before he was elected, and nothing's changed my mind since - he's a one-term-wonder, and frankly, George Bush would have lost the election to one of his farts.
The presidency is there for the taking, if the Reps can stop allowing themselves to balkanise.
Shame that the choice of president on offer is as bad as the choice of best rapper - all with silly names and no genuine talent.

Frankly, all the candidates for president - including Obama, are complete shite.
They'd be better off getting a Scandinavian to be president instead of this lot.

Mad Dog Joe, as opposed to Sane Dick, and Steady Sarah? Seriously, State was convinced Dick was a looper, during dubya's term.
He even had has own 'Presidential office' private militia out searching for them, y'know, WMD's- long after the world had accepted they didn't exist.

Yes. Turns out, the Baathists were a bunch of mutually suspicious and misinformed twats. (guess we shouldn't be surprised) Some of them even thought Saddam had nasty weapons- but he didn't, and Saddam was quite happy to keep them ignorant, divided, and guessing. The UN sanctions- everyone's favorite punching bag at the time- turned out to have been quite effective. So rather a shame 'we' subsequently invaded a neutered and largely disarmed country based on an outright lie, thus providing a stark example to the rest of the world never to be disarmed.

Well, we're likely to never get to the bottom of that disinformation but on another note, It's hard to believe this story:

Why would Osama bin Laden have wanted to kill Barack Obama? Obama’s doing more damage to the country than Osama ever managed.

Obama Comes Out Against Anti-Gay Amendment in North Carolina

President Obama's reelection campaign announces his opposition to North Carolina's anti-gay Amendment 1, scheduled for a May 8 vote.

“While the president does not weigh in on every single ballot measure in every state, the record is clear that the President has long opposed divisive and discriminatory efforts to deny rights and benefits to same sex couples,” said Cameron French, his North Carolina campaign spokesman.
“That’s what the North Carolina ballot initiative would do – it would single out and discriminate against committed gay and lesbian couples – and that’s why the President does not support it.”

considering the likely votes for obama by the female and minority (especially latino) constituencies, i think it's better than even odds that obama wins in november.

add to that the fact that americans overwhelmingly like obama as an individual....and the more the learn about romney, the less they like...especially strapping his dog to the roof of his car when he drove to canada. reminds me of 2000 when some voters said in exit polls that they voted for bush because they'd rather have a beer with GWB than al gore

and even if obama doesn't win, everybody knows romney's a social liberal....and as far as his proposed economic agenda.....it's tough to get anything passed when you need 60 votes in the senate....so in short, i don't see a monumental shift even if romney wins....in fact, we could see a few months worth of legitimate compromise on economic issues. if obama wins we'll just see more obstructionism by the republicans.

but again, i really hope obama wins so that he can continue leading the country towards progress.

    more good news,.........

Obama raises $45 million in February

Picking up the pace, President Barack Obama raised $45 million for his re-election bid in February, bringing his total to about $300 million for this election cycle, his campaign said Monday.

Obama stepped up fundraising efforts during the month, collecting nearly twice as much as the $23 million per month average he raised during the final three months of 2011 and more than the $29.1 million he raised in January. The money was spread among Obama's campaign, the Democratic party and two campaign funds.

Obama's campaign said nearly 350,000 people contributed in February and the average donation was about $59 for the entire election cycle. Nearly 98 percent of the donations were $250 or less.: Obama raises $45 million in February

"Nearly 98 percent of the donations were $250 or less." That's impressive- "spread among Obama's campaign, the Democratic party and two campaign funds"; I wonder if that includes donations to Super Pacs, like Maher's $1 million. I wonder how much is coming from pissed off women.

^ I was reading the/a breakdown earlier and if I can find it I'll post it.

entire story: Obama high-dollar donations lagging - The Washington Post

President Obama is struggling to draw in big-dollar donations, with half as many people writing large checks to his campaign than at this point four years ago.

Obama is outpacing his Republican rivals in fundraising overall, and his advisers have concentrated on amassing small-dollar backers, part of a strategy to get more people invested in the reelection effort. At the end of January, 1.4 million people had donated to the Obama campaign, responding to appeals for contributions as small as $2.

Yes indeed, the donations are lagging. How is this low-class adolecent punk going to afford his golf?

President Obama discusses investing in clean and renewable energy sources as part of an all-of-the-above strategy to develop American energy and reduce our reliance on foreign oil at the Copper Mountain Solar Project.

Something to do with the fact the recent spike accompanied the announcement of stricter economic sanctions against Iran, in particular it's energy exports? Ridiculous anyway- non-aligned countries such as India are taking up the slack from Iran, and the only ones making a killing are the oil companies and speculators. If we look at the real cost of pandering to zionists, the cost to the rest of the 'non energy exporting world' is probably at an all time high this year.

The gender gap in presidential politics is not new. Democratic candidates have gotten more support from women than men for more than 30 years. Even so, Barack Obama’s advantages among women voters over his GOP rivals are striking.

In the Pew Research Center’s most recent national survey, conducted March 7-11, Obama led Mitt Romney by 20 points (58% to 38%) among women voters. It marked the second consecutive month that Obama held such a wide advantage over Romney among women (59% to 38% in February). In both February and March, Obama ran about even with Romney among men.

Oh so much more good news in this link : The Gender Gap: Three Decades Old, as Wide as Ever | Pew Research Center for the People and the Press
