Well, one thing we do know about Obama that he is in favor of late-term abortions.

    Obama In 2003: I'm Pro-Choice Including Late Term/Partial Birth Abortions - YouTube

Then State Senator Barack Obama said he was pro-choice on abortion including late term and partial birth abortions.

Has he changed his mind? Haven't heard anything to the contrary. The difference between a late-term abortion and infanticide is a matter of splitting hairs.

^ Most people favor of the government keeping it's big nose out of something that has nothing to do with them. It's a personal, not State, choice.

Not quite. We know that Obama is in favor or choice, as in the freedom to make a persoal choice about your own health care, something the Rethuglicans seem to only give lip service to.

This is interesting. If Obama wins Ohio and Florida, it's over. Pretty clear where the money is going to be spent.

which is partly why the ryan pick is so puzzling.

the obama campaign is going to 'carpet bomb' florida with medicare ads in september and october....and the romney campaign is staff with seasoned professional so they had to know this. right?

i have a sneaking suspicion there is going to be a great 'tell all' book about this romney campaign that eventually comes out.

Sure it was not because a win in Wisconsin is needed. Must be Romney is doubling down on the right to make sure he is perceived as someone who represents them.

Doubt getting the right on side is gonna help. The right will vote Romney to make sure Obama doesn't win anyway.

Dems will continue to hammer on the abortion and medicare debate. As long as the Republicans allow the Akin's of the world to become national news only serves the Dems. Obama cannot afford the debate to center on the Economy. He can't win even though no assurance Romney will do any better.

Let's try this again. Ayn Rand was not referring to late-term abortions but the Zygote, OK?

    "An embryo has no rights"

An embryo is obviously not what Obama was talking about. He was (& maybe still is for all we know) in favor of snuffing out the full-term child.

    Carry on...

Excellent rebuttal in the Atlantic of the hack job Nial Fergusen did on Obama in Newsweek.

As a Harvard Alum, I Apologize - James Fallows - The Atlantic

It points out the kind of fast and loose play with the truth that the Romney game is so bad at, but that a "journalist" with the authority of a (once) respectable publication like Newsweek can almost bring off. Fallows counters the Fergusan lies with some facts.

One chip at a time, we'll just keep hitting them with the truth that's out there instead of the play that's running in their head.

    Charlie Crist Endorses Obama

Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist endorsed President Obama for reelection on Sunday, writing in a Tampa Bay Times op-ed that the president is "the right leader for our state and the nation."

"I applaud and share his vision of a future built by a strong and confident middle class in an economy that gives us the opportunity to reap prosperity through hard work and personal responsibility," Crist writes. "It is a vision of the future proven right by our history."

Crist, a former Republican who served as governor from 2007 to 2011, switched his party affiliation to Independent during a failed U.S. Senate bid. Crist lost the 2010 race to Sen. Marco Rubio.

In Sunday's op-ed, Crist went after his former party, citing Rep. Todd Akin's (R-Mo.) "legitimate rape" comments as an example of right-wing extremism.
    Charlie Crist Endorses Obama

Jon Huntsman should really endorse Obama too- he has little in common with the extreme positions of the dominant Republican right. But I daresay he will remain quiet. There have also been a couple of recent defections of politicians from the Republican party in California, for the same reason- right wing extremism. I wonder how long it will take the right wing of the party to be put back in their place as the so called 'loonies', their moniker under the Bush snr administration? The answer to that is probably tied up with the results of the forthcoming election. Similarly, I would think if the Dem's shifted much to the Left it would not go well for them either- as Americans themself like to remind us, it is a 'moderate conservative' country.

The Tea party favorites, such as nutty Sharron Angle, did not fare well at the midterm elections, neither did they fare well in the republican primaries. We should not confuse the noise they make with electoral success.

Obama Tells Supporters If He Loses It’s Their Fault…

When I’m out there talking to voters, we talk about what we’ve done, what we plan to do over the next four years, and why the other guys have dangerous plans to go back to the policies that failed America for almost a decade. [...]

Last week, when I was in Iowa, voters told me they were feeling it. The numbers back it up: Our side is getting outspent 2-to-1 on the air there.
But the folks asking me about this don’t want an explanation — they want to know what I’m going to do about it.

And the fact is that solving this problem is up to you.
You’re getting this email because you know what the stakes are in this election. You know the facts about what we’ve done to prevent a deeper crisis and to start building an economy that works for the middle class.
We’re losing this air war right now.

I don’t have as much time to campaign this time as I did in 2008, so this whole thing is riding on you making it happen.

    Thank you,
    Barack

^ Tough titty, said the kitty.
I look at all of the negative, personal attack ads put out by the obama enclave and shudder at this guy. And why are all the leftist guys here so concerned about abortion rights? As a woman, I say back off. Since liberal woman are supposed to be so smart, why don't they look after themselves? In this day and age, you wanna have consensual sex, you gotta be smart enough to know about STDs. (Guys should be aware of this, too.) Besides gonorrhea & AIDS, there are many other diseases you can contract from a guy: herpes, viruses that lead to cervical and oral cancers, all kinds of infections...IOW, Unprotected sex is not recommended. Use a condom. If both partners are checked out and then monogamous, and don't want kids use birth control. Partial term abortion, where the child is born alive -- same as a PREEMIE -- is MURDER.
Taxpayers should NOT be forced to pay for abortions or birth control.

I've been checking the realclear state by state polling, and it's a pretty tight race as of now.

Will be interesting chess game come election day unless something big provides a shift in either direction.

Obama Speech to Troops Met with Silence

President Barack Obama was greeted with fleeting applause and extended periods of silence as he offered profuse praise to soldiers and their families during an Aug. 31 speech in Fort Bliss, Texas.

His praise for the soldiers — and for his own national-security policies — won cheers from only a small proportion of the soldiers and families in the cavernous aircraft-hanger.

The audience remains quiet even when the commander-in-chief thanked the soldiers’ families, and cited the 198 deaths of their comrades in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The audience’s reaction was so flat that the president tried twice to elicit a reaction from the crowd.

“Hey, I hear you,” he said amid silence.

The selected soldiers who were arrayed behind the president sat quietly throughout the speech.

CNN and MSNBC ended their coverage of the speech before it was half-over.

Obama might not be the saviour of america but this time around he really hasn't got any credible opposition.

IMO the Rebulicans made a huge mistake in nominating Mr Sleaze as a serious contender for the presidency and his selection of running mate quite honestly made things worse. Just about anyone else would have had half a chance, even Bart Simpson. The party supporters need to look a lot deeper, cease the whoopin and a'hollerin and do some serious homework.

What does this remind you of? That's right Obama bowing to the Saudi king and the Japanese emperor and the Chinese leader.

Ole' Clinton managed to sneak one in. He reminded people that President Obama, leader of the free world, bows to others.

I checked realclear today and if accurate, there are 11 states that are "toss-ups."

I am getting very interested in the breakdowns in the battleground states - which of course will decide the winner of the election in 7 weeks.

Here is an article on Ohio (18 delegates) and Romney need of OH.

    Mitt Romney's Ohio Problem
By Z. Byron Wolf | ABC OTUS News

ABC OTUS News - Mitt Romney's Ohio Problem (ABC News)
Forget post-convention bounces - the numbers that really matter are in the battleground states, where President Obama's polling advantage is more concerning to Mitt Romney's team than any national numbers.

No Republican has ever won the presidency without winning Ohio, and Romney isn't in a strong position to become the first.
According to ABC News' latest race ratings, President Obama is in strong position for 237 electoral votes, when leaning and solid Democratic states and combined. Mitt Romney has only 206 votes he can expect in his column, as of now.
Add in Ohio's 18 electoral votes, though, and Obama stands at 255 - within striking distance of the magic number of 270. Romney would need to win nearly every other battleground state - a list that includes Paul Ryan's Wisconsin, once thought to be safely Democratic - to pull out the presidency without Ohio.

Check out my conversation with ABC's David Muir from Sunday "World News" - including the literal lift in Florida that the president received the weekend after his convention. It appears below after David Kerley's report on how Mitt Romney has softened his position on repealing the president's health reform law:
