^ yes, 538 is probably the best site for breaking down the data.

here's an interesting info graph that takes an in depth look at the recent NBC/WSJ poll. what's undoubtedly of particular interest to both chicago and boston is the data from the battle ground states.

WSJ/NBC News Poll: Obama Clings to a Narrow Lead - WSJ.com

what's also interesting is the further evidence that people just don't like romney....he's got high negatives and people intending to vote GOP are voting against obama and not for romney.

Now here's a poll that makes sense: Nearly 65% think Barack Obama would be better suited than Mitt Romney to handle an alien invasion.

A third of Earthlings believe in UFOs, would befriend aliens

But Mitt would be better for Jobs & the Economy so which do y'all think is a priority?

^ Oh, FFS, I wouldn't feel safe under Obama if there was a run on ice cream. At least under George W, everyone felt safe with the US at the helm of world security. Fek, Obama only knows how to direct drones; probably had the Pentagon set him up with a drone computer console in his bedroom that actually bombs Pakistani targets.

Far, far from it. Two failed wars (more's the pity Obama only escalated the Afghanistan folly). 911. Relations with the UN and Nato probably at an all time low. And who was it that bagged OBL, again?

The drone director? (Oh, all the intel from the Bush years count for nada, huh?) How's he doing helping the Pakistani doc who helped get osama and got 33 yrs in prison for treason? What a guy, that obama.

I think Jet is referring to this:
    9/11 - Salon.com
The CIA materials directly contradict the many claims of Bush officials that it was aggressively pursuing al-Qaida prior to 9/11, and that nobody could have predicted the attacks. “I don’t think the Bush administration would want to see these released, because they paint a picture of the CIA knowing something would happen before 9/11, but they didn’t get the institutional support they needed,” says Barbara Elias-Sanborn, the NSA fellow who edited the materials.
    ---
Counts for "nada" when the dipshit slacker Supreme Court appointee is on vacation and doesn't have time to talk to the head of the CIA:
    ---
CIA Director George Tenet has said he didn’t speak to Bush once that month, describing the president as being “on leave.” Bush did not hold a Principals’ meeting on terrorism until September 4, 2001, having downgraded the meetings to a deputies’ meeting, which then-counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke has repeatedly said slowed down anti-Bin Laden efforts “enormously, by months.”
    ---
Just imagine that is "Clinton" or "Obama" instead of "Bush" in the excerpts above. Imagine the howling and cries of "treason." The American right-wing is devoid of credibility and unworthy of engagement on any serious level, at least that doesn't involve a baseball bat.

Potential Obama opponent (Ryan as VP)

Larison on Paul Ryan: "Ryan voted for the PATRIOT Act, No Child Left Behind, the Iraq war, Medicare Part D, and the TARP. Ryan’s voting record is a perfect example of Republican support for the expansion of the size and role of government when their party is in power. His voting record is typical of a Bush-era Republican."

    Good find, Robuzo.

    Thanks for that voting record.

Ryan's voting record shows that he has not authority on any "cuts" in spending. What a laugh. And the biggest killer of all of these wasteful and needless spending bills is Medicare-D.

^There is probably a fairly large contingent of believers who are less comfortable about voting for a Mormon than they are a black man. Considering Romney's prominence in the Mormon church, with its troubled history of racism and religious intolerance, that should be fair game for the Obama campaign. The Mormon belief system and hilarious historical notions not only look very weird to the non-religious; Christian denominations also find them shocking upon examination.

Most consider Mormons a harmless cult. Nowhere in the same league as Scientology for example. Anyhow, when JFK was running against Tricky Dick, the same hysterical cries went up a Roman Catholic with 'strange beliefs' won't do!

I see. Losing jobs every month would be much better. I yearn for the good old days under Bush when we were losing 300,000 jobs per month.

Black voter turnout may be a factor in 3 battleground states: Ohio, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Report: Obama needs better than 2004 black turnout
    By SUZANNE GAMBOA

WASHINGTON (AP) — One of the country's oldest civil rights groups says President Barack Obama may have a tougher time winning at least three battleground states in November should black voter turnout fall at least 5 percentage points below the record levels that helped to put him in the White House.

Black voter turnout of 64.7 percent was a significant factor in Obama's victory in 2008, and African Americans are considered solidly behind Obama now. But having achieved the milestone of electing Obama as the nation's first black president, black voters may be less motivated to return to the polls in droves again, the National Urban League said in a report to be released Tuesday.

Assuming no change in 2008 voting patterns, Urban League researchers said, black turnout at about 60 percent or below could cost Obama North Carolina and make it difficult for him to win Ohio and Virginia. In addition to diminished voter enthusiasm, the still-ailing economy, persistent high unemployment among blacks, new state voting laws and limited growth in the African American population could help discourage turnout.

Obama's Fundraising Grab for Wedding Gifts Fails

Late last month, the increasingly desperate and erratic Obama campaign attempted a fundraising gimmick laughable on its face to anyone living in the real world:
Let your friends know how important this election is to you—register with Obama 2012, and ask for a donation in lieu of a gift. It’s a great way to support the President on your big day. Plus, it’s a gift that we can all appreciate—and goes a lot further than a gravy bowl.
Yessiree Bob! This idiot thinks he should be the one who benefits from the most important day of your life.

    The results are in:

So far, “the Event Registry” has been all but ignored on social-media sites — even though Facebook, Twitter and other networks have been a strong suit for the Obama campaign.

not a great ad, but a pretty good one....it continues the narrative, and it asks the question everyone (including republicans) is asking:

    what is mitt romney hiding?

and if i'm to judge by the highly effective campaign he's been running this summer, i'd bet he's hiding an october surprise.
