Money politics, I don't like it. But what else can you do in the US these days, to get elected? The amount of slush money revolving around elections there dwarves anywhere else- and personally I would like to see it reformed. Unusually though, Democrat Obama has more fund raising power than his 'conservative' opponents.

Their current call is Obama 294, Romney 170.
According to them, the only 'Tossup' states are Arizona, Colorado, Florida (a big one), Nth Carolina & Missouri.
He won't take Ohio. He won't take Arizona. Florida is not in play. That 170 needs to be a larger number.
Rob Reiner concedes, "We may not be at the level that the Republicans are funded, but we'll be competitive."Unusually though, Democrat Obama has more fund raising power than his 'conservative' opponents.
The Dems perpetuate this lie in front of every camera they can. According to Ben Stein the overwhelming number of donations from millionaires go to the Democrats, in the 2008 election 90% of the million dollar and up donations went to the Democrats, the wealthy in this country overwhelmingly donate to the Democrat party, and the wealthy are overwhelmingly Democrats.
This has been a news bulletin from the right wing alternative reality. Thanks for listening..Originally Posted by attaboy

Obama won't take Iowa, Missouri, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina or Virginia. That equals 91.
Nevada and New Mexico can go for Romney. Add Arizona. Given the legislation passing in Arizona lately. I see Romney taking Arizona.
Stands to reason that these millionares who donate to Democrats and their causes know that the current policies in the Republican Party is not healthy for their interests. Economies are a balance of wealth, and for a long time now it's all been tipping to the Right.

I only did an hour of show prep, but I feel like I'm skipping school today. I feel like I'm not fulfilling expectations, so we'll see. This is what I know.
Mitt Romney was not at Chappaquiddick. Mitt Romney has not been accused of rape. Mitt Romney did not have an affair with a mob babe. He didn't have an affair with an actress who committed suicide later on. Mitt Romney did not father a child out of wedlock. Mitt Romney did not support the tapping of Martin Luther King's phone. Good post Boon. Don't forget that JFK's personal aide provided the president with interns who he forced himself onto and in one case the president directed an intern to perform oral sex on the personal aide while the president watched. That's the kind of man JFK was.
Bush Fatigue is no longer a factor though Obama will try to make it so. This means states like Missouri, Iowa, North Carolina and Virginia which went for Obama last time will not go for him this time. They will return to the Republican fold. Florida will return to the Republicans also. The only reason these states are considered up for grabs is because of the fluke created by Bush Fatigue in 2008.
What Obama is worried about is Obama Fatigue. People have had it with him. He is losing the independents. He is retaining single women but he is losing married women. He has lost white males. He has lost the elderly. Students won't turn out, for them the novelty has worn off. The novelty has worn off for everyone.
Obama’s 2008 campaign exploited people's hopes and it exploited their faith in a leader at a never before seen low. The fraud was perpetrated in a 3rd world-cult-leader-worship fashion which cannot be run past the electorate again.
For everyone the embarrassment of their hopeful naiveté still sticks. Exploitation of people’s vulnerabilities that low can only be run once in their lifetimes, maybe twice but not so soon after the first offense.

Don't think he ever 'had' them- wasn't this the only major demographic in which he didn't win a majority in the 2008 election? It was a close thing, anyway.Originally Posted by attaboy

Obama raises $44M for campaign, Dems in April
President Barack Obama raised a combined $43.6 million in April for his campaign and the Democratic Party as he faces a unifying Republican effort around Mitt Romney for the White House.
Obama's monthly fundraising haul fell short of the $53 million he raised in March, but he remains far ahead of Romney in cash on hand. The president also pulled in about $15 million at a Hollywood fundraising event this month.
"This election is going to be close, given the historic challenges this country faced when the president came into office," campaign manager Jim Messina told supporters in a YouTube video released Wednesday. The campaign said it added 169,000 new donors to its rolls last month.

Obama's campaign and the Democratic Party had about $124 million cash on hand at the end of March, while Romney and the GOP reported $43 million left in the bank at the end of March (that enthusiasm for Romney ), federal reports show.
