The Library, Koh Samui (hotel review 2008)

I found this article online, it's a few years old, strangely it boasts a blood red swimming pool.

Why is that an attraction?, I ask myself.. Is it still the same?

The island of Koh Samui's infamous Chaweng Beach is littered with hotels, but none of them comes close to the Library in terms of that all-out beach bliss-out factor. Standing out like a finely manicured thumb from the three-star crowd, this elegant and modern boutique hotel is most remarkable for its blood-red pool, the tall trees that seem to grow in, around and through the building, as well as the alabaster-white library complex that gives the hotel its name.

The Library, Koh Samui hotel review - Telegraph
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

I met few ladies in the 5star PranBurry six senses, that library was next on track for continuation of their journey and they had to purchase all white dresses for their library stay...
Some good marketing to keep rich people busy...

It's got quite a good restaurant- they pride themselves on quality, and it really shows.

    Was there 2 months ago.
Pool is as shown in the OP's pic.
    In person looks very unwelcoming.
Restaurant I found to be ok but lacking in patrons.
Nice big pillows for resting on the beach.

been there a year ago. the hotel is quite nice, great rooms and decent restaurant, but the pool is actually worse than on the picture. It's by far the most uninviting pool i have ever seen and it just doesn't work.

went there, overpriced room for 8,000 THB a night, cold and unwelcoming, pretentious, services inexistent in true Thai style, and the restaurant menu was so "light", there was nothing to order, also completely empty and very few customers

looks great on pics though, probably developed by some rich Thai guy on the island trying to impress his friends

room were "interesting" on second floor, but again, no personality and cold

    better hotels for that price,
