Question lodging in Hua Hin for Thai Government Employees

I plan on visiting Hua Hin later in September as I have a Thai friend I am visiting. Anyway my friend is a government employee and asked me if I wanted to stay at a Hotel operated by the Thai Army for government employees.
Connection was really bad when she was describing hotel. So my question is does anyone know where this hotel is located. I know it is on the beach but that is about all. I would imagine there is only one Hotel fitting that description in Hua Hin so Im sure one of you locals knows about it... Any help appreciated.

Could be anywhere, but hey its on the baech..
There is an army base just south of HH about 7 klicks Its over the main drag south and away from the beach..
Dont forget the big guy HRH has a place there just north and you can bet there are loads of brass going down there from time to time, if its one of theirs then it should be spot on..
Brings a new meaning to a rub down on the beach

theres a military hotel on the beach right next to the small airport, they also have standalone beach bungalows and a good restaurant.

theres another one inside a big army camp about 5 or 6 kms south of the town, also right on the beach, accommodation is in bungalows, but they look a bit run down compared to the airport one.

I came across that one south, on the beach, just over the train line, further down is a camping area, bloody nice i thought, rent youself a scooter in Hua Hin and enjoy, lucky bastard, great for a run in the morning, ride south for some great beaches to hang out on and get away from the rabble, you'll get enough of that at night time, Hua Hin's a great place.

Well looking forward to my visit. Have 19 days for vacation there so should be fun. I'm thinking hotel she is referring to must be the one by airport. Tomorrow she is making reservations so can find out where it is at for sure.

Haven't been to Hua Hin for 4 years but plenty of good quality town centre hotels, not costly at this time of the year. Depends what you are after, but for me, I would always want to stay in centre of town.
