Thai maps can be inaccurate. Just ask the Cambodians.Originally Posted by nevets

I have lived and worked for 2 years in Sichon in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, and I have never experienced any problems.
I visit Nakhon Si Thammarat once every week, and I visit Trang and Satun once every 3 months and stay there for a few days. Never any problems.
Also in Surat Thani there is no problems....Koh Samui is located in Surat Thani province, and I have never heard about any problems there Unless you're thinking of overcreowded beaches and traffic jams and pollution in Koh Samui??
BTW I can tell you that the beaches in Sichon and the area are officially rated 4.5 Stars compared to say Phuket and Koh Samui only rated 4 Stars!
I love it here, and I wouldn't relocate even if I was given 10 million US$
