Help needed with cheap seaview hotel, we've been um, misled

Hi,

Need some Help with a cheap seaview hotel, preferably around Karon beach, but open for suggestions around the area. Week 1 we are staying in Patong which is why we thought somewhere quieter for week 2.

We had this place booked for a few months now Thavorn Palm Beach Resort, Phuket hotels Thailand and as you can see in the pics and description it plainly says they have ocean and Karon beach views.

Now, I read a review on trip advisor Why we cancelled our booking - Review of Thavorn Palm Beach Resort, Karon, Thailand - TripAdvisor which made me ask the question as well and lo and behold, no feken view

Thank you for your email. The below information on our website is the details we get from hotel .
We just called to them and ask , they informed that Deluxe is facing to the sea ( karon beach ) , but it's not seaview because there is many Palm and coconut tree in the hotel . So it will hide the view .
So all Deluxe Room have Garden View and Pool View only .

The picture which shown is since many year , so the trees have grown up and hide the view.

We are sorry for made you misunderstand .

So, any one know of anything similar looking, with seaview, doesnt have to be on, just a balcony with a view for around the dollars quoted (1499baht/night) during May 09

If that is the only fucking you get while you are in Thailand you will be the luckiest tourist this year,, keep your hand over your ass cause they are waiting to get in again..

Agree with BG. THe sea view, or lack of -- is small spuds.

Bitch a little bit to the mgt after you check out your room. Maybe they'll throw in a free lobster dinner and helicopter tour of the island.

You can't get any closer to the sea than the Thavorn.

Try Movenpick, South Sea Resort, Hilton but, don't think it will be cheaper than the Thavorn. Tavorn is a good location as it's close to restaurants and transport.

Instead of sitting in your room looking at the sea, why don't you go outside, and look at the sea?

Because I think it would be frowned on getting liquored up in public and its to far to go back for a refill.

I wanted the balcony and seaview for afternoon drinks before going out, is it unreasonable to expect what is portrayed?

Frowned upon? Hell you can sit on the pavement across from the beach outside the 7/11 in just a pair of shorts drinking the local fire water and nobody will take any notice, ask Sir Burr he will tell you, although he hasn't been on here in a while, wonder what happened to him
