| Koh Tao : WAR on plastic bags WAR on plastic bags Published on February 24, 2008 Residents of Koh Tao want to make the island's rubbish fully biodegradable Koh Tao or Turtle Island off the coast of Chumphon in Southern Thailand looks set to become the country's first plastic-bag-free zone. Long suffering from the relentless growth of garbage, local residents recently launched a major campaign to get rid of all plastic bags, which they say are unfriendly to the environment. "If successful, our small island could be a role model for the rest of the country, especially in tackling garbage and environmental problems," said marine scientist Thorn Thamrongnawasaw-asdi. snip nationmultimedia.com Here is a " WAR On " that's to be supported

| The funny thing about the rubbish on Koh Tao is that its the Thais that throw there shit everywhere. The majority of Farang are well tuned into the environment but the Thais will throw shit in the water before they will walk 2 meters to the rubbish bin, seen it many times and its foking pathetic. Even seen one bastard draining his engine oil straight into the water.

Maybe worst an investment for a recycling center and fabric in a touristic country who is on the way to choke under plastic. | |
