Same me. The most south I have been was Hua Hin. Something like Phuket (I have been invited there from a neighbour) is definitely on my list.

The most south of mine is Hua Hin with my dad and mum wooohooo.. I always smile when I think about it.

I am thinking to bring mum and dad to a waterfall which is near their house on the new year as well if they want to go of course.

I've got a best mate, Alaskan king crab fisherman. He used to come here every time he hit the bucks. Caught VD from the same girl 3 times in 5 months. He still says it was worth it. Kai her name was.

Dammit, and I was going to go there for Christmas. I still might. It's got to look better than Samui, yes?

Great pics.
I have similar pics from ao sane beach in phuket and karta and karon but sans people, this is around 1979.
I remember staying at cha weng in the only bungalows on the beach in the late seventies. They were financed by two swedish seamen, but all one heard all day was the sound of hammers on nails as bungalows were being built everywhere.
At this time the northern islands were out of bounds,no full moon parties then.
Except by the fisherman/pirates who preyed on the vietnamese refugees and kept women as sex slaves on islands like ko phangyan, after murdering the others.
Phuket and koh samui were still quite dangerous places for white women especially, several white women were raped on beaches on koh samui in the late seventies.

And I was in partnership with Roy and Rune, 1977. This was at the time Chewang Guest house the third set of bungalows on Chewang Yai, from the Chewang Noi side. Only the dirt road and you werent going anywhere if it rained. Plus there was no road Chewang Lamai, you had to go around through Nathon.
Did you hear the almost one year of dynamite as they built the cement road around the island? This would have been 1979 or 1980 and it took over two years to finish it. Same damn little road they have now.

I wonder if I knew you Mark?? Blast from the past.
