    Passport for Thai national

    Hi,
I live in Koh Phangan and I am looking for somewhere closer than Bangkok for my husband to get his first passport.
I can see there was one in Surat Thani but not sure if it's still open.
Does anyone know if there's one nearer than Phuket/Bangkok or a nice easy way to sort it out?

Your husband asking on pantip dot com would probably be far more effective.

I mean, it's his country and all, no?

Surat Thani. Most major towns now have a passport office. http://www.huahinforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=21656

Yes...I would have thought this was well understood.
All provincial capitals have Thai passport offices/processing centres

Forget Bangkok unless everywhere else is boarded up and or smouldering. We waited 4 hours for my boy's first passport, and then discovered they spelled his name wrong which was obviously our fault for not supervising the clerk as she copied it from his birth certificate.

So we hid our shame and went to Chantaburi for his second, another 1000 bt, friendlier staff, less stress, waited a few minutes and headed back within an hour.

They did the same with my son in Korat. They said it was still okay to use and they'd amend it upon renewal. Went back to the UK-return and had no problem.
