    Samui and back

Decided to drive down from Bangkok to Samui for Xmas, to meet a mate there. Hired a fortuner off of MPM on here, just over 1k a day, a great motor, LPG too. He even brought it to the airport, a really nice guy too, even though he's from coventry

It's about an 8 and a half hour drive to Samui, so I did it in 3 one day stages. 3 hour drive to Prachuap Kiri khan, 2 and a half hours to Chumphon. then a 3 hour journey to the ferry. So it took me a week to get there and back and a week on the island.

It's easy enough, there's only 1 main road

    Those stars on samui starting from the top left and working anti clock wise are;
    A waterfall
The only LPG station on the island
    Centra coconut resort
    Centara Villa resort
    Centara grand resort
    Nora lakeview hotel
    Samui Mermaid resort

I won't bullshit you that I stayed at any of those centaras, even though I walked through them and have photos
I have these vouchers through my airmiles, but after visiting them all to decide where to stay, discovered that at that time of year those days are blacked out. Wankers.
The 2 were full anyway and the big one wanted a s landreth sized wedge, so we decided to take a friends recommendation and stay under Samuis flight path.

So with missus and kid in tow we headed off from bangkok, listening to MPM's hits of the 50's and 60's.....

this songs still going through my melon

bend it bend it just a little bit

So without further a due, I shall just down one of these man drinks and show you the piccies

Right, erm, I think this may be Prachuap Kiri khan. They all look the same these beach photos
I remember it was friggin cold and really windy here and i'd driven 20 km's off the main road following a "Dolphin Bay best value in thailand" sign, only to get there and see the pool packed with farang. i dunno why it was freakin freezing. So I got a bit snobby and went in search of somewhere a bit more upmarket. The first place turned out to be a sanctuary for missionaries. So, drove up the beach for 10 mins and found this Privacy Resort

It was empty too, I only saw one couple there and some guy with a pair of binoculars.
All those stinking farang are way down there on the right

Sat on the beach and watched some woman whacking her buffalo with a stick

She looked to be tenderising them and heading them in the Chumphon direction

Stopped to look at some Monkeys

This crazy old boot thought I was gonna open the window with those monkeys present to buy food for them. Took her photo and drove off and she screamed something out that probably wasn't very nice

^^^ It was bloody freezing terry

I stayed in the best Hotel in Town a few years ago and the room was around 800 Baht.

Fantastic views out over the Gulf with a full moon rising. Bloody brilliant it was.

Ive just tuned my mate into PKK and he's going next week.

Bugger all farang tourist there at the time as most don't get past Hua Hin.

Is it still like that. ?

You can stay in the resort on the airbase for about 900 baht.
60 baht green fees for the airforce golf course.

    Next stop Chumphon.

Didn't really get many photos there, it was a bit of a blur involving 4 gay welsh students, copious amounts of cider and some Northern guy putting me to bed.I think he ran over my little toe too.

I think this place was called A-Te or something like that

It was too cold for the pool here too, which was a shame.

Does this holiday get better - it is like after the fcukin apocalypse - no Cnut in any snaps.

What did you do next - spend a day picking fluff from your belly button?

I have seen more life in a bone comb - up your game.

The little 'un. she likes to do those daft Thai gestures. She was pretty well behaved on the journey

at the ferry port now in Don Sak. got there at 3.30 pm, sat there til 6pm and was told cannot ferry tonight khrub, so pulled up at this nearby resort. they only had one room free and said no one else wanted to stay at number 13. May have been to do with the 200 mosquitoes inside i reckon

It wasnt all a family affair Icey. If you notice the op mentions a mate in Samui. Have you been samui ?
I did hit the Reggae bar a couple of times and Slut Alley and I do indeed have a cnut pic for you, when we get to Samui
