cycled round a bit, not much to see, fishermans houses etc
deserted as it was around 12pm, everyone was asleep
this shop had the lot!!!
siesta time for the dags
no cars, just the odd mototaxi passing by, always shouted a big hello, friendly lot the southern thais.
ketamine-only fools and horses
on the way back we found agreat little resturant on the hilltop, nice family run place.
perched on the hill, lovely breezes
constant breeze had done its work on the rubber trees
was nice to see the family engrossed in a nat geo special about otters
they had a myna bird that spoke southern thai, and some english, the missus loved it!!!

right, back in the uk in the snow and ice, ill finish the thread!!!
so where were we? ahh yes the morakot caves, emerald caves, used by pirates to store stuff, reached by an 80 metre swim in pitch black, we winged it on our own, and didnt have a torch, pretty good adrenaline rush. missus did well
we paddled right under the over hanging cliffs on the way, amazing stuff.
so after the swim through, we came out into this
beach and the view up, surrounded by cliffs
heres the cave exit inside
we were the only ones there as we went early, stayed for about 30 mins, then crowds of people started arriving.
well worth a try, was a really good, one off experience.

Well done. I`ve never managed that.
Too bad that you didn`t bring a torch though, then you would have experienced why it is called the Emerald Cave.
the cave is good but not having a torch would have been a worry for a little bit. i had my sunglasses knocked off by a wave when i came out of that cave but the 2 guides dived down and found them for me.
cool spot.
inland the tham ley khao kob cave is awesome. you have to lie down flat in a boat that travels thru a water cave during low tide. nearly hits your face as you go.
Khao Kop Cave
