Any decent digs in the town mate ?

theres lots of options mate, we chose that place as it was quite central and it didnt break the bank.for another 1000 on top you can get something nice, ac etc, we just didnt need it.

right, so the next day the weather hadnt decided to sort itself out so we had another ride this time south down the island.

10 baht each, sold in plastic bags, they were going like hotcakes...hot chicks...summink like that....

well it looked like the sun was going to make an appearance so we made adash for the beach.

didnt turn out too bad, this is why i love beach breaks

so one more day on lanta, a nice slow day, went into saladan, the main ferry terminal for the island for some lunch and to get tickets to our next destination, koh mook.





some nice places to stay,but no beach, some were offering breakfast a motobike and a bed for all in 1000 baht, not bad at all.

cop doing his job, no parking this side of the road on even days a european guy sat and watched him do it then went over and asked why rather stupid i thought, shouldve jumped on and moved it!!



so we got our tickets, 450 bahts, our bungalows were offrering the same tickets for 500, with free pick up. the ferry was a snorkelling boat so we could stop and snorkel on the way. nobody so far had booked to snorkel so it was a straight forward ferry, great stuff.

Well done for posting the pics and description. However, fucking awful place, and why would anybody actually want to go there?

Parts of Phuket are crap, but there are some places that are decent, and offer far more quality and enjoyment than what you've displayed.

Sad really, I've never been to Lanta, but my perception has been destroyed.

It's a shame really as it used to be a pristine place.When I took friends there last year I was shocked at the state of the place.We ended staying a few hours and driving back to Ao Nang instead.

I made the mistake of going to Lanta on my own. Thought i could just chill out for a few day and read a book on the beach. The reality was that after 24 hours i was bored out my mind and wishing i was back in Pattaya. Like a lot of Islands there is rubbish everywhere and i was paying 1600 a night for a basic bungalow with a fan and that was one of the cheapest i could find. The night life is almost non existent and you are surrounded by western couples and families.....Nice beaches though but i wouldn't go back. I could have just have went to Ko Samet for half the price.

Nice thread mate: Pity about all the bitter posters.

It is a nice place ..just an hour+ for us..occasional day trips..drive right to south onto dirt road..nice view resort/restaurant up on the hill.....
