    New Hairdresser in Chalong

I had the best hair cut for a long time yesterday, I've known the girl on and off for a while but she has always worked in other salons then she always moved on.

Anyway now she has her own salon so she aint moving any where.

The girl started washing my hair then she massage my head a little then put a hot towel on my face then put some face cream and massaged my face, I thought this is good I was enjoying it.

Then a good hair cut looks all nice and neat now all for 250 baht including coffee I was well pleased.

She lived in Germany so thats where she learnt can speak English and German the salon is well fitted out nice clean towels a pleasant place to go.

Her salon is called "Angies" that's her name also and it's next to wine connection on the Chao far rd East

Not just males for females also I might add

    Bloody Hell! 250 Bt?

Right opposite her, down a small soi is a bloke that gives haircuts. Excellent cut for 60 Bt.

Average 'unisex salon' prices here circa 150/200 baht. Unless you want to look like a refugee from some 'boot camp', most prefer to avoid the Thai barbers.

Depends, if you speak Thai its pretty easy to get a good cut. Women cutters are better than men. I pay 60B and tip her 20 for a great haircut.

Agree about female cutters being better, Thai male barbers tend to use shears only.

In Chalong, the "unisex salons" are between 80 and 120 Bt. I've had good and bad cuts by women.
The Thai bloke Men's Barber is very good. Many farang go there. No way I'm ever going to pay 250 Bt (even if coffee is included). I don't want "an experience", just a haircut.

I don't mind to pay I like the way she cuts my hair most of my friends feel the same, you don't get a shampoo in the barbers shops.

I always wash my own hair before I go.
I just want to get in and out as quick as possible.

For me, haircuts are like shaving. Necessary, but, I really begrudge the time that it takes.

Haircuts and shaving are the same to me...I start at me chin and finish on the top of me head.....actually my missus usually shaves the top bit....then does me ears....then tries me nose hairs...all gets a bit much really

He has his shop alongside his house in a small soi just near Siam Safari, same side of Chao Fah West Rd. Its sign posted.
Been going to him for better that 15 years and have absolutely no complaints - 60 baht for the last ten years.

Many years ago he used to have a salon in the Dusit Thani in Bangkok. He does speak some Thinglish as a result.

I'll check out Angies today. Last time I've been to a shop at Central Mall and pad 400 baht, mind you, nothing impressed me there.
