Where to stay in Phukey, Karon Patong with my mother and step dad

Hello,

my mam wants to visit Thailand in January with myself and my step dad, I have been several times and usually stay in Patong or Pattaya but with my mates and not the places I would want to take my mother lol, I am looking for advice on where to stay in and around Phuket, somewhere nice and resort but not mega expensive, some nightlife and beaches and not out the way, is Karon Beach better than Kata and Patong for this or if anyone has any hotel names etc that would be great.

First I would recommend Kata/Karon, they are linked by a nice beach road. Lots of nice places your mom would enjoy. But whats the price range keeping in mind January is high season.

don't really have a limit but seen a few decent 4 star in Patong for around £500 for 2 weeks the siri grande hotel and Bauman residence, the first has good reviews the second a couple of negative but overall good.

The Patong Resort often has some outstanding low season packages. Maybe the best location for about everything.
Patong beach itself is quite improved with a regular cleanup crew out there before dawn.

Pattaya aint recomended. No airport and nasty beach

Jan is not low season;

Checkout Kamala, lovely beach, not as built up as Patong, karon, Kata ( to me a cement jungle) but still plenty of places to eat and a few drinking spots, small bungalows on the beach as well as resorts on the beach
IF u have the $$$ Laguna area

Nightlife in Kata has gone to shit really. All-inclusive hotels have killed off most of the neighbouring businesses.

Karon Circle is OK, plenty of places to shop, eat and drink and only a few minutes walk to the beach.

Why don't you have a look at airbnb?
