People,
I live in the UK and have been visiting the Dusit Thani Laguna in Phuket over the last four years.
The Dusit Thani Laguna is on Bang Tao Beach.
I like the Dusit Thani Laguna mainly because of its closeness to the beach which allows me to wander down the beach in the day for a cheap massage and at night where I visit either the Lotus Restaurant and Tom Yang Goong restaurant both of which are established restaurants and have been on the beach for around 30 years.
I have received an email from a friend who has advised that basically a lot of the smaller restaurants on the beach (which are mainly wooden shack built cheap structures) and also massage buildings have been either demolished or served with a demolition order as they are on public land. There are also reports of this online.
The Lotus website says it is closed (I cannot post links to please search lotus restaurant phuket)
What I am trying to gauge is whether anyone whos if the closing of the Lotus is temporary or permanent and whether anyone has 'inside knowledge' of when the Lotus will be back up and running and how / when etc.
Thoughts would be appreciated
Naughty
