    Drivers in Phuket

I have driven all over Thailand but not in Bangkok or Pattaya and Phuket has by far the bigger percentage of bad drivers and not only Thai people
Tailgating, driving so close behind you that they cannot possibly stop if you do a emergency stop
Not using indicators to change lanes or make a turn
Forcing there way thru in the motorbike lane or driving on the wrong side of the road to gain one car length
Driving after dark with no lights on
Driving on the wrong side of the road
Speeding, i know everyone speeds in Thailand just to keep up with the flow of traffic
But driving at 180 Kph and weaving all over the road to maintain this speed is stupid
when the maximum legal speed anywhere in Phuket is 90 KPH
Just to name a few of the bad driving habits

Not hard to work out, some people admit trvavelling at that speed and when i am doing 90 KPH and vehicles pass me going twice as fast, it does not take a genius to work it out
No problem as long as the only person they kill is themselves

Well if you don't drive at that speed then you may be wrong about the speed they are traveling at.
I have been driving in Thailand for many years & have never had a car, truck or van pass me at that speed.
More like 130 - 140 Kph would be it

I met a biker from Kho Pha Ngan, and he had a bevy of wild tales to tell, but then he had a "get out of jail free card" ...

One time he was stopped by a cop for speeding and told the cop he would give him a quart of good whiskey if he would clock him again...The deal was struck and he roared on by on his Harley at 212kph, according to the radar gun...
