    The wife and I are going to Chalong for 5 days towards the end of the month to look at a sailboat, was wondering if anyone knows about these restaurants, Sala Mexicali, Vset, and Da Sandros, Thanks;

    The Wine Connection in Chalong has more than a wine selection- it does good food too.
    There are a couple of token Chinese style seafood places by the water, they didn't impress me but 'OK', and at least you're by the water.
    Overall Rawaii is much nicer, more laid back, and not far away. I'd tend to spend evenings there.

    Don't forget Kaen Eng 2, that is a pretty nice place just off the foot of Chalong pier.

    A very pleasant location for a lazy afternoon and has nice views/food/wine etc.

    No Mid, not up to speed at all, neither my wife nor I have ever been to Phuket, all I know about it is what I've read on TD and internet. Looking forward to this little outing. Just trying to get an idea about the Chalong area. Looks like might be a great place to have a sailboat. We're on the other side of the gulf, between Rayong and Ban Phe, but if I buy this boat I believe I'll keep it at Chalong. Thanks for the link Mid.

    Yeah, I've been looking at Rawai a little too, thought we would go down there knock around some. Thanks Sabang

    I've read good things about this place too and intend on going, only have 5 days, might be enough time to get a feel for area though. Staying at the Pier 42 hotel, close to where we need to be, looks like a good spot, good reviews. Thanks qc

    Sala Mexicali is excellent! I went there in January of this year due to a co-worker's recommendation. The mexican food, margaritas, and service (although we were there relatively early in the evening after a day of fishing) were all great. I highly recommend the restaurant...!

    That's Kan Eng 1. Kan Eng 2 is further north by about 500 metres and is better.

    This place is where the Thais eat. Best Thai food in Miles. Not easy to get to from the pier, ask locals or get a cab. yip not the one by the pier
