Jomtien Jail - Dong Tan Beach

Jomtien Sub Police Station has a nice little jail cell for Jomtiens miscreants, this is on Dong Tan Beach, unfortuneately the cell view is facing the opposite direction so those nasty people dont get to see the nice beach and the soothing waves, the cell itself is 1.80cms by 2 meters, and yes it is shared
I know of one guy who spent 3 nights in there due to a dispute over a bar bill, luckily he didn't starve to death cos he shared the cell with an Indian who had food brought in for himself and was willing to share it with him, but basically because it is considered a short term holding cell you don't get anything, ie food or water, actually the toilet is better than some of the toilets in back packer places, although some idiot must have trod on the toilet seat and broken it, but at least it aint a squat toilet
The nice thing about this one though is that as it is in the main office they do benifit from the aircon.
Anyway onto how to escape from this cell on the right hand inside the cell next to the metal grills is a light switch for the cell light, this being Thailand the cable is on the wall, yep, they got 2 2 core cables there, so one is live, ok first rip out the cables, next live up the metal grills, as the guard unlocks the padlock throw a bucket of water over him and hey presto you are ready to leave the jail

Well with all the excitement of TEFlers being arrested I thought it a good idea to get some pictures of the transport they use, don't look to bad does it, nice breeze aslong as you don't get caught up in traffic, trouble is they do handcuff you up while your in the back, Pattaya also has a couple of 10 wheeler ones, one the immigration uses to dump Cambodians back across the border, and the other the police use, I think thats mainly when they got a big collection of prisoners and they need to dump them in one of the major prisons in Chonburi or Bangkok, I shall try and get a picture of them tomorrow.

Well I found one of the main prison transport lorries today in North Pattaya, no prisoners though, bet the black paint job keeps it nice and warm in there for the prisoners.

    Pattaya police upgrade prisoner transport

It seems that Pattaya police are expecting a surge in the arrest rate of nasty farangs and have upgraded the prisoner transport vehicles.

This lovely modern beasty has all mod cons like padded chairs, windows, and wait for it, yep, air con, if you look closely at the picture, the top of the prisoner section is glass, with a nice tint on it I might add, then they have grills and little sliding windows for if you want to have a cigarette on your way to Bangkok, I suppose it would have been better if they fitted ashtrays on the back of the seats, but it is probably healthier for smokers to open the windows so the other prisoners don't inhale too much secondary smoke, all in all quite an improvement I think.

Nice padded chairs for the prisoners, hell thats better than the local train seats you get in Thailand about the same amount of leg room aswell

Is this like an "I had a friend post"???

It could not have been too bad in there for you DD. I did not notice you missing from the board for 3 days, so there must be internet access in the cell!

They even let you bring your cam corder and camera to jail!

Next time just pay up at the bar!
