    Pattaya to Poipet via Bus?

Since I do some work in the gaming industry, I'd like to do some research on the casinos in Poipet. I'm going to be in Chonburi (finalizing the divorce hopefully) during the middle of April (middle of songkran), so I wanted to see if there were any buses from Patts to Poipet that did sort of a round trip service all in one day.

I know SavannaVegas in Laos offered something all the way down to Yasothon, does anyone know if a similar service for the cambodian casinos is offered?

If not, does anyone have a recommendation of a car hire service that would be able to do something like this?

Doubt it could be done in one day, you would need to get a bus from Pattaya to Bangkok or Rayong, then travel on from there, most minibus visa run services from Pattaya don't use the Poipet border crossing, only easy choice is to rent a car for the day, plenty of parking in Poipet.

Surely there must be buses (provincial) that run from Pattaya to Aranyaprathet or futher afield to the likes of Khorat or Buriram?
If not, then a bus from Pattaya to Kabinburi then one from there to Aran.

Don't know how long you need for your research but there's plenty of accomodation in Aran if you need it. You've also got the hotels/casinos too at the border.

we do an almost reverse of this trip regularly; bus runs Aranyaprathet to Chachoensgao (via Sa Kaeo) then minvan to airport, no shortage of minivans from Chachoensgao in all directions

Just use one of the Visa run services, they run mini-vans between Poipet and Pattaya every day. Much faster than any bus, sometimes faster than you wish you were going. They may give you some discount since you will not need them to do the paperwork for a visa run.

Don't see why they would care whether you came back the same day (as most people do) or stayed a couple of days. Should run you about 2000 Baht round trip (return).

That's what I was thinking Bob, that'd probably be the easiest and most convenient.

Anyone been to Poipet recently, and know how many casinos are still open there? I read some things this morning that said some of the border towns along the Vietnamese border had turned into ghost towns, not quite sure if this had affected the ones along Thailand's border yet.
