If I were you, I'd set a budget and go around and ask everyone what they'll give you for it in terms or processor, RAM, hard disk, DVD/Bluray, etc.
With most of those small stores, there is no returning or exchanging the thing even if it doesn't work when you get it home, and most of their stock has been opened, used, played with and handled as a display.
Unless it's a super good deal, or you really need the latest technology, wouldn't it be better to buy one in a factory sealed box from a place like Big C or Lotus?
Also, I waited until I went home in October and paid the equivalent of 6000 baht for a netbook that costs 11000 baht here, and in the USA it came with Windows 7 legit, and in Thailand you get nothing or Windows Pirate.
they are garbage at DC, infact most of the "cheap" prebuilt ones in Tukom.
whats your budget, I just built for a mate are pretty grunty Quad Core machine for 18,000 not incuding a monitor, yeah you can build a low i3 or i5 for the same money but a high quad kills em, you want to for an i chip, start looking at a minimum of 30,000.
BobR, what net book did you purchase, reason I ask is I purchased my Samsung N220 in England mid last year only to discover it was 3000b cheaper here............
The Meth One's Fuck The Best !!
The company I used to work for bought a couple of PC's from there 3 years ago.
They were fine, still going strong now I believe.
They were basic no frills machines and yes, they did come with fake O/S installed but if you want to pay the extra you can have the genuine version instead.
I've never had a problem with any of the tukcom stores, had a hard drive fail that was still under warranty, they replaced it.
I have used Pattaya2u for the past 5 years or so, bought 3 or 4 computers from them, few problems and sorted if there were any.
