    Pattaya Slum Dwellings

Thought this would help boost the egos of whinging TEFLers in Thailand who keep complaining how poor they are, this will prove to them that they are not in fact at the bottom of the social and economical scale in Thailand, although many are most probably at the bottom of the scale socially wise due to them so willingly taking to crime and using fake degrees to get a job in Thailand, anyway, thats neither here nor there, on this thread they can see where their Thai equals live and gloat over others misfortunes

Anyway, just imagine you have spent millions of baht on that prime bit of land overlooking the beach and the sea, these people could be your neighbours

Shall ad more Pattaya and Jomtien slum villages as I go to them, plenty of them here.

Quite a nice use of the end cuts of timber on this shack.

Corrugated iron, must sound like an Australian house when it rains

Thatched roofs and a few chickens and tonnes of rubbish.

    2 storey shack?

No, there are so many TEFLers seen around there because the pussy is cheaper there than at the gogo joints.

Well I went to Sattahip today, they have some lovely slum dwelling there, these were opposite the Queen Sirikit Hospital entrance.

This first one is from the red pork shack restaurant just outside the gates, shame I didn't get a picture of the Thai woman that lived there, she was quite a stunner and smartly dressed considering she hasn't even got a proper front door.

This one is just down by the traffic lights, make a nice little time share place

Yes and the timeshare touts would describe it as nestling in superb gardens with expensive well maintained garden furniture enhanced by modern environmently friendly air circulation and an ultra neoclassical roof, complete with nursery facilitles and a postal collection facility............and that`s only the outside.

    Thai slum dwellings

Another Pattaya slum dwelling, as you can see it is open plan which allows for that nice cooling breeze on hot days.

I assume the bedroom is actually the tent, a bit of privacy I suppose.

Ahh yes, the bathroom, bet there's a few mossies in there, also might have a snake problem, just a minor inconvenience of living in a Thai slum dwelling.

Looks cleaner than some of the bathrooms I have seen at the back of bars....

Maybe I'm just visiting the wrong places

Pretty harsh living conditions. That makes a place like Compton look like a mansion.

Wrong side of the road for Jomtien complex, can't see Pattaya Park Tower from there I would have thought, at least not as it is in the photo, ie right side of view talay.

I think it's from the side balcony or back bedroom to get that shot.

And in case anyone thinks VT7 is just an eyesore, here's proof of its eco-credentials - grass on the roof (of the dogs shit on variety, not the other kind).

At least from the roof you can still see the sea can't see what all the complaints were about having the sea view blocked, it's only a 2 minute walk to the beach anyway
