Pattaya Chaknork reservoir and Maprachan reservoir

We shall start with Chaknork reservoir as that is the boring one, ie unlike Maprachan it hasn't got any nice bars or restaurants, anyway these 2 try and supply Pattaya and Jomtien with all their water needs, judging by the amount of water lorries on the roads everyday they aren't doing it very well.

Normally there are quite a few Thai guys fishing here but today there wern't wanted to see if they had caught anything worthwhile.

As you can see there is nobody around and no shops or anything really.

A couple of Thai guys live in this wooden shanty house that is built inside that tree, just think they shower and shite in Pattayas drinking water resevoir

This is their fish trap, I assume they just use it to hold fish they have caught till they are ready to batter them to death and then eat them.

Don't worry, Maprachan is much better with lots of nice bars plus they have the canoe races and barge races there every year.

Khun Johns Maprachan Lakeside Restaurant (Low end Thai restaurants)

Maprachan Longboat races (Pattaya Traditional Longboat races to be held Nov 18 and 19)

Maprachan Resevoir and fishing in Pattaya

Next week is the old annual boat races at Maprachan so as I was going past I thought I would get some pictures, just so happens this guy was reeling in a catfish as I went past so I thought I would stop, speaking to them the bigguns are like 20 to 30 kilos, biggest any of these had caught was 12 kilos, that aint bad for a free fishing venue in Pattaya, they had a load of half kilo catfish in a keepnet which I suppose are just used for snacks, although some were small enough to use as live bait

4 kilo catfish and about 40 pound line so the fish didn't stand much chance, it was just, drag that catfish in.

Suprised they just didn't bother dragging the fish up the bank actually, still suppose it gives them practise using the landing net.

Nice coloring though.

This one aint going back in the water, thats tonights dinner for those guys.
