    Decent Area to rent

    Gday All,

I'm a 52 yr old Aussie and am looking at moving to Pattaya and was wondering if anyone could tell me if they know of a decent area to rent a condo where there are other Aussies or English people.
I work offshore so I'd be flying in and out of Bangers every 4 weeks.

    Thanks in advance
    Victa

Sadly there are lots of Aussies and Brits. Have you been there before?
What are you interests and hobbies?
Beach life and sitting in bars can be done almost anywhere.
Need to walk to Villa to buy foreign foods?

There are thousands of condos in Pattaya, Jomtien etc..

Yeah been there a few times and heading back on the 20th for 2 weeks. I love the place and am mad on my golf. The courses there are great. Heading over to Huahin aswell to play Black Mountain. A good mate of mine owns a little bar in Soi New Plaza and has done for 14 years. Lock & load bungalow Bar so I hang out with him a bit .
I know theres a few areas that are full of injuns and ruskys so would rather not be in the middle of that.
Thought there might be a few apartment buildings with mainly aussies or poms which would suit me better.
    Cheers

Knightsbridge, London might be an option. Golf courses are available at a reasonable cost. Of course your definition of "English" might not be what you would find there.

If you want a condo then Wongamat without a doubt. Quiet, pleasant, reasonable beach, no whores or karaoke bars, and most of the O & G folk fetch up here long term.

Victa I'm a similar aged career O & G guy who also loves golf (played Green Valley this morning) and have lived in Pattaya for eons. Maybe we could help you out some more if you gave us a few basic parameters to work with:
    1. Are you thinking about a Studio, 1 bedroom, 2 Bedroom, etc.
    2. Ballpark budget.
    3. Is ocean view important to you.
    4. Do you plan on having your own txp (car and/or bike).
    5. Are you ok with public txp (Baht buses, Motocye taxis, Grab Taxi's etc).
    6. What's your idea of entertainment that you'd prefer to be near (gogos, sports bars, malls, dining, etc).
Let us know some specifics of what you're thinking about and for sure, we can give you some food for thought. The options here are simply ridiculous in both range and availability, from 3000 Baht a month rat-traps to obscenely priced Penthouses and everything in between.
