Sense of The Sea Review by Danny Boy .
So it was date night again last Friday, episode 2, although this week it was a case of me, myself and I, due to my better half dealing with family commitments.
During last week I had a lot of emails regarding this place, but have never been before, so it was definitely worth a look. Sense of the Sea is located down at Jomtien, about half way down beach road. The venue itself fairly big, and has a huge car park at the back, so don’t worry about driving down and looking for somewhere to park.
Inside has a modern feel to it, very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. They have live music, and both indoor and outdoor seating areas.
The menu is nice too, but is focused mainly towards Thai and Asian cuisine. They do have western options, but it is fairly limited in my opinion. It is also not cheap, but I think in a these kind of places you are paying for the surroundings and atmosphere as much as the food and drinks.
So after finding a nice spot I ordered the steamed sea-bass with some rice. It came well-presented and was cooked perfectly, although I would not have accepted anything less at 740 baht. I had a bottle of San Miguel Light with the meal itself (140 baht)
I thought about having a dessert but noticed an impressive selection of cocktails, so opted for the later, and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived at the table. Take a look at the pic and see for yourself. That was 490 baht, again fairly expensive, but like I said before, you are paying for the experience in these kind of places as well as the food and drink.
Would I go back, yes I would, but only for special occasions. It’s one of those places that you should definitely go to, as it’s very different from most other places in Pattaya in what it has to offer, but for value for money, there are still a wider choice.
Still haven’t decided where to visit his Friday, so let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas.
Please note that these reviews are my own personal experiences, and both venues I have reviewed to date had no knowledge of me being there.
